I have read that all the notorized forms have to be recent copies, I believe it said that they have to be no more than 15 days old, is this correct?

Best way to assemble the application package?:

I started with an A4 file folder and sectioned everything off. I just moved this to 3 seperate manila envelopes (haha-will that make it faster?). They are:

1 - sponsor forms

2 - principal applicant forms

3 - documents

* - and photos in the seperate photo shop envelope they came in (all numbered, with captions on the back, and in ascending sequential order)

* - i assume it's best to have all forms and documents flowing in the same order as the document checklist.
I will be seperating it in a similar way:

1 - sponsor forms, including all supporting documentation

2 - principled applicant form, including all supporting documentation.

3 - photos

Seeking clarification on the following forms:

IMM 0008DEP - ADDITIONAL DEPENDANTS/DECLARATION FORM: what person(s) would be listed here? We have 1 child who already has his canadian citizenship certificate and passport. There are no other children. Would we just put N/A on this form?

IMM 5406 - ADDITIONAL FAMILY INFORMATION FORM: What person(s) must be included on this form? This appears to be the ONLY form that requires both English & Korean.

When this isn't enough room in the spaces:

- should I first use up the space and then put con't on seperate sheet or just put the whole thing on a seperate sheet?

- should I put the seperate sheet on the immediate next page within the forms or just put all seperate sheets in a seperate envelope?

Thanks.

So far I have only noticed the word recent used and 3 months used for CBCs.

I was reading an old copy of the instruction guide, I think it refered to the copy of the family registar.

As for your other post, the additional family information has to be filled out (I asked about 4 pages back) and it includes her parents and any sibilings, my guess is that this form is for CIC to figure out how many potential family members of our spouse might be trying to move to canada in the next few years with us as a sponsor. :p

I roughly followed what someone else did in another thread that people seemed to think was good. Three manilla envelopes bound together by rubber bands and labelled as follows;

1. Sponsor's Application and Supporting Documents (all sponsor's forms and sponsor's documents required by the document checklist)

2. Additional Documents Supporting Sponsor's Application (4 extra documents not required by the document checklist that supported and explained my plans to reestablish myself in Canada)

3. Principal Applicant's Application and Supporting Documents and Photographs (all principal applicant forms and documents required by the document checklist as well as the photos)

It seemed to me that the photos were more relevant to the principal applicant's application so I threw them in with my wife's application (envelope 3).

I agree, it's best to put the documents in the same order as they appear on the checklist.

Where are you guys landing?
We're going to the suburbs of Toronto.

Yeah it is probably best that I put the photos in my wife's application to make sure there is no chance that they are lost. You are right, they will be much more important to her application.

Translation & Notarization update: My wife made some calls today and she found a local lawyers office (with a translation office on next floor). They have a partnership for cases that need translations. They have done the PR before, etc. They told me wife it can all be done in 3 hours from drop off to pick up.

Notarization: 25,000 per page (for each seperate document under 4 pages)
Translation: 10,000-15,000 won per page

Total: 200,000-250,000

We are going to do this last since the documents should be recent.

* They are located in an officetel building where we used to live...how ironic.

Explanations for forms - there are some areas on the forms (mainly the Principal Applicant forms) where synopsis are required regarding; wedding ceremony, dating, etc. How much should be typed for each generally speaking? 1 page each, etc?

Depening on the question, bur originally I was planning on writing a nice form and putting on the application, "please refer to appendix (#)." But after going into more serious preperation in the application process, I realized that I shouldn't "overdue it." Type what is necessary, give detail, but I am planning on the photos to do more talking than what I am writing.

Not sure about IMM0008DEP. We have no kids so I didn't fill it out. Maybe someone else can help.

IMM5406 should include your wife, you, her father and mother, your son, and your wife's brothers and sisters (including half brothers and sisters if any). I typed the names in English and had my wife hand write the Korean translations in the same boxes. There should be plenty of space for that.

The other important thing about that document is to make sure the English name spellings of the Korean folks match up with the English spellings of their names on the English translations of the documents you get from the gu office and have translated at the lawyer's office.

I thought so too and for my wife's questionnaire (IMM5490) I put all information (about how we met, developed our relationship, got married etc.) in the boxes provided. Nothing extra. I think the photos tell the rest of that story.

The only part of the application where I added extra detail was in my own Sponsorship Questionnaire (IMM5540), Question 11. I typed in "See Attached Covering Letter". I then wrote a two page letter explaining our plans to return to Canada, how we planned to reestablish ourselves, etc. I did that because I thought that was probably the most important issue the VO would have to consider in assessing whether I was eligible to sponsor.
