Hi everybody. I have a question about an issue regarding a sponsorship application i am about to submit for my wife.
We recently got married in Turkey on December 14th and obtained a turkish marriage document. Afterwards I had an religious conversion ceremony and then an islamic marriage and registered it with the Iran embassy in Ankara.
The problem is that they entered the marriage date as October 16th which is false; this was purposely done by the Iranian embassy workers due to the following - my wife fell pregnant in October while we were still unmarried, which is a punishable crime in Iran. So now in her Shenasnameh (Iranian birth certificate which shows marriages) our date of marriage shows as October 16th which is untrue (we had the Iranian marriage on December 27th). We are not going to change this date as again it is a punishable crime to have a child outside of marriage.
On our application I am entering the date of our turkish marriage, and i have the translated marriage document. However when the screening officer sees the translation of her birth certificate he will see a marriage date that is untrue. We only had the Iranian marriage in the first place because she was going to return back to Iran pregnant and children born outside of marriage do not have access to citizenship without a documented father; they are essentially stateless persons. I do not want to misrepresent any information. I plan to attach a sheet fully explaining our situation and be truthful about everything. Any advice?
