Hi everyone, I am new to this blog and I am looking to meet and talk to others in the same situation as me. I am sponsoring my husband from Morocco into Canada. The sponsorship was approved in Canada on June 5, 2013. The permanent residency application was then sent to Morocco. I don't know the exact date it was received there because they never sent us confirmation that it had been received, but on July 29, 2013 they posted that they had received his medical results. I haven't heard anything since then, I'm hoping now that the strike is over we will hear something soon. If he needs to have an interview or if he just needs to bring in his passport and they will give him his visa :) My lawyer had said that it should take 4 months in Morocco, but I think because of the strike it has delayed things because it has almost been 4 months. I would love to talk to someone who understands how difficult it is to be away from their spouse. I haven't seen my husband in almost 8 months. We have been together for just over 2 yrs, we got married on February 12, 2013. I have been to Morocco twice and we have spent 5 weeks in total together. Its been so hard but I wouldn't change this journey for anything because we have learned to communicate very well with each other and through our separation have created a solid foundation for our relationship and we have developed a beautiful strong love :) It is very hard for others to understand how you can love someone who lives so far away, but love doesn't know distance or time and despite the distance I feel so close to him because our hearts are always together :) I think that unless you are in a similar situation its hard to understand....I would love to connect with anyone who would like to share their experiences with me :) Good luck to everyone I hope time passes quickly for you and you can be reunited with your loved one soon :)
Hi Yogalotus, welcome to the forum.

I sent in my application in April and was approved as sponsor in May. Rabat has received our PR application although i didn't receive an AOR, they did confirm to me when I inquired about it via email .... so for me, it'll be 6 months this month  lol

Your lawyer was being quite optimistic when he/she told you it will take about 4 months. Even though there was a strike, it didn't effect all VOs including Rabat, but even that said, if you check the processing times online, it does say that it takes about 8 months to process files in Rabat, plus the month it took to approve as sponsor ... so that's 9 months :-[ so really for us dealing with the Rabat office, it is a waiting game, so much patience is needed ... lol

Again welcome to the forum, you will find there are some of us here that are waiting to be reunited with our loved ones ... it's a great forum because everyone understands how you feel because we're all going through the same process. I'm so grateful for this forum because it does help in passing the time.

8 months is a long time to not see your husband ... i saw mine in May, but even that seems so long ago :-[

Good luck to you and your husband ... may you be reunited soon insha'Allah :)

Hi Jamali,

Thanks for responding :) Yes I am aware of the processing times. I had hoped that by paying a lawyer to do the paperwork everything would be done properly and so we would save time and there would be nothing missing from the application that could cause delays. Also based on all the other clients he has it usually takes a shorter time than is posted. Also when the status was changed to medical results received he said that this is in the last stage of the process...im always optimistic and hopeful that time will pass quick it helps me get through the wait :) It has already been 5 months, the application was received in Mississauga on May 10. So max it will take another 4 in Morocco but I hope sooner because I miss him soooo much :( I am planning to attend the interview with him if he needs one, so I am waiting to see if he needs one. If he doesn't then I will plan to visit him soon, but he needs the interview then I will have to save my money and time off work until then ...It's the not knowing that is difficult because you cant make plans :( I don't want to go and see him then when I return find out he has an interview and I cant return to attend it.
I'm happy to meet you and have someone to talk to you :) and your right it is a waiting game...but I believe that everything happens in its perfect time :) This process has definitely been a test of my patience I have never had to be sooo patient :)...but finding true love is worth waiting forever for :)

Hi Jamali,

I will most definitely keep you posted:)

Did you do the application through a lawyer? Also did they receive the medical results yet? I'm trying to gauge how long after people receive a status update of medical results received, that they hear if they need an interview or they hear something :p

Thanks again for getting back to me so quickly :) Best of luck to you too, I'm sure you will hear something soon :)

Hey yogalotus,

you've definitely come to the right place to find people who will understand exactly what you're going through and at the exact same time :)

as jamali mentioned, you and I have pretty much the exact same timeline. Our application was approved and transferred June 3rd, 2013.
our ecas changed to "medical results received" in mid july.. since then, absolutely nothing!
we did the application on our own without a lawyer.
I've also seen several people getting visas before time mark listed on the website.. but it really all depends on so many things.
also every case is different, so its hard to say when, how, who, why, what, huh??? lol

I would assume your application is complete as they haven't contacted you for further documents until now.. so your lawyer must have done a good job ;)
in 2012, somebody from this forum applied in march 2012 and another person applied in may 2012. they both got a call on october 12/2012 for an interview the following week.
sooo, im really praying this will be a good month for all of us inshaAllah.

yes, its very difficult for all of us to be away from the one we want to be around the most but inshaAllah, this will all be behind us before we know it.
sometimes i can't help but be annoyed with why its taking so long but then i think about how blessed we all are to be dealing with one of the fastest embassies.
to imagine what our brothers and sisters have to go through dealing with a VO in Pakistan with a processing timeline of 31 months...
Alhamdulillah..may Allah make it easier for all of us and have this all over with very soon. :D

take care and wish you all the best.

No, we did the application on our own ... unfortunately for me, there is no medical results received. I sent them an email to ask about the results, they did reply but only said that "we are processing your file, medicals have not been received yet" ... so for now, we're just waiting to see if they will request them ??? I ordered my GMSC notes and hoping to find something more from there.

Each case has been different from what i have read here on the forum, but i'm not sure about those who used a lawyer ... but Goatlove is right, at least the Rabat office moves quicker than other offices ;D

hey girl!

you know what? I read the confirmation email they sent me after i requested the notes and realized that 30 days for both of us will actually be on the 9th.
it says on that email, if we requested the notes outside of office hours or on a weekend, then the request will start being processed the following business day, which would have been monday sept 9th for both of us.

so inshaAllah wednesday...which hurts to say LOL

Hi Goatlove,

Thank you so much for responding as well :) I am soo happy to met you :) It's soo nice to talk to someone in the same position as me and our timelines are the same too. I have a good feeling that I will hear something soon...maybe we will get news soon that they don't need an interview and just for them to bring their passports to get their visa's!!! :) Atleast I know that there are others in the same position that haven't heard anything becuz sometimes I worry why its taking soo long and I hope my file hasn't been misplaced or something :p If your husband needs an interview do u plan to attend with him? my lawyer said that if I can attend it looks really good that I am there to support my husband.

We are soo lucky that Morocco is one of the countries that takes the least amount of time to process PR's :) Everything happens in the perfect time, so far everything has fallen into place for us and I believe that our destiny will continue to work for us :) Best of luck to you too Goatlove :)

What notes are you requesting? will the notes tell you how your application is going and if you think it will be approved?

it's the GMSC notes ... they are notes that they make regarding your file. Even if they didn't update e-cas yet, they may contain information regarding where your file is in the process, or made notes about other things such as your pics, your proof, etc. etc. ... it may not say much but it might give you a better idea as to which stage your file is in.

so yes, hopefully the notes do tell you how your application is going ;D
