Sponsoring husband from Morocco

Well congrats anyway Habibti, now we know forsure that things are moving along quickly down there.

I myself was planning on going to Morocco in November but my husband got a call right away. Maybe our husbands might pick up their visas on the same day..

I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! MY HUSBAND RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE VISA OFFICE THIS MORNING. THE LADY WAS NICE TO HIM. SHE ASKED HIM LOTS OF QUESTIONS ON THE PHONE. SHE SAID TO HIM TO COME TO THE VISA OFFICE TOMORROW TO BRING MORE PICTURES AND MORE EMAILS. HE TOLD HER I WAS ARRIVING NEXT WEEK TO SPEND MY VACATION WITH HIM. SHE TOLD HIM THAT I SHOULD PAY FOR VISA AND HE WILL COME WITH ME IN CANADA. I AM CRYING. CRYING OF JOY! IT TOOK LESS THAN 3 MONTHS!!!!

So happy for u and ur hubby ,its really amazing i hope they will call me soon cus i applied at the same time as ur hubby ...PLZ keep me posted if the interview is waived and when is he getting his visa ! thank god it didnt take 11 damn months ......

Thank you to all for your supportive words. I am completely at a loss. The lady from the visa office told my husband that I should pay for the visa and then he will be able to come to Canada with me. But why she asked him to come tomorrow morning to bring lots of pictures, emails and msn chats and she did not ask him to bring his passport? They need the passport in order to issue the visa, right? And when they ask for more proofs, it means that they have doubts about our relationship, right? I really don't know what to do!!! We don't have the money for the visa and for his flight to Canada. I will have to cancel my trip, then? I am supposed to leave on Friday this week! It is no use for me to spend my vacation time in Morocco if he is going to arrive this summer!

Is there no details on your E-CAS account? My guess is that he has an interview tomorrow. If they made a decision and he is approved then he will get his visa on a wednesday. Just hope that he gets good news tomorrow and it doesnt mean he got rejected which is a bit of a relief; They're probably just undecided

I just checked on our E-CAS account. Still the same old message: "We received (my husband's name) application for permanent residence on March 31, 2011." They did not tell him he has an interview tomorrow. They just told him to bring more pictures, emails and msn chats. How can he get his visa if they did not ask him to bring his passport??? No passport, no visa, right? I don't think they are undecided as the lady asked him to pay for the visa ASAP and she also told him he will be able to come with me in Canada this summer. Weird, isn't? I thought our case would take lots of time or would be rejected as I am 20 years older than him!!!!

I haven't heard of a case like yours but then again, i haven't heard of many. They don't ask for passports at interviews- probably because they don't issue visas on Tuesdays. Did you pay the whole 1040$ to send your papers to Mississauga? If you did I don't think he needs to pay for his visa. Age difference usually is an issue, that might be why he needs the interview, i'm thinking, I'm pretty sure he's got an interview though. They ask for things like pictures, e-mails, etc. when it's an interview. I wouldn't overlook the situation; Just think positive!

I did not pay the whole amount as I did not have enough money at the time. I thought that he was coming only in winter 2012 and I thought I would have enough time to get the money until there. I paid $75 as for the sponsor and $475 for the principal applicant. I did not pay the $490 for permanent residence fees. And tomorrow it is not an interview. He was told to come any time during morning to deliver the pictures, emails and msn chats. Let me tell you I won't sleep tonight! lol When it is going to be 3:00 am my time, I am going to call him at 11:00 am his time.

I know there are lots of questions now but likely they just will talk with him tomorrow and are thinking that he will have the visa before you leave. They only issue visa's on Wednesdays so he will not get it tomorrow. They probably just want to confirm you guys are still communicating. Once they have they hopefully they will call and tell him to bring his passport in.

I know this is all speculation... but I think its a good guess.

I don't know if cancelling traveling will benefit you because how much money will you lose if you cancel your tickets now??

The travel agency told me I would have to pay a penalty of $400 to get all my money back. The lady on the phone was not too sure about that as my agent was not in today. But the problem is that I sent money to a real estate agent in Agadir to rent a furnished suite for my husband and I for one month. So I don't know if I could get my money back... I am in the same boat financially and I really appreciate what you are going through. I would look at all your options before finally deciding...although I know you are leaving Fri. I hope your TA is there tomorrow and you can get a definite answer. Can your husband contact the real estate agent there and find out?

My husband will go to the visa office around 9:00 am. Believe me... I am going to get up in the middle of the night to call him (there are 8 hours difference) to know how it went and what exactly the lady said to him. I really need to take a decision fast!!!!

I am rooting for you!! I will pray for finances and favour with the visa.

I know this is a long shot, but is his family able to help in anyway with his ticket? Or a friend or family member of yours that can assist with a small loan? I know for me the answer is no on both but just a suggestion.

No, his family is poor. Six months after I met him, his father died and he is the eldest to take care of his mother and 3 younger brothers.

I had to pay airfare (Quebec city - Vancouver) for my mother so she can look after my house, my son and my dog when I am going to visit my husband in Morocco. She just has a small pension from the government. She was on the plane when my husband contacted me to tell me the news about the visa office.

I even bought lottery tickets today LOL Nada!

No, his family is poor. Six months after I met him, his father died and he is the eldest to take care of his mother and 3 younger brothers.

I had to pay airfare (Quebec city - Vancouver) for my mother so she can look after my house, my son and my dog when I am going to visit my husband in Morocco. She just has a small pension from the government. She was on the plane when my husband contacted me to tell me the news about the visa office.

I even bought lottery tickets today LOL Nada!

Wow, I can so understand what you are going through. Well God has everything taken care of. Will be praying today as I know there is lots to think about.

It is 4:30 am here and my husband just called me. He had to wait 2 hours at the visa office before he could give the officer more pictures of us, copies of our emails and msn chats. They told him they are going to examine our file and will call him in 25 days to let him know if they accept him or not. If they accept him, they will let him know if he has to pass the interview or not. I will still be in Morocco when they are going to call him. In the meantime, I have to pay for the visa and fax them the receipt. Now I am sick with worries. We are again facing the unknown.
