I am going to Morocco on august 21st for one month to marry my fiance there.
I read that getting a visa for a spouse can be difficult and I would like to obtain a visa for my spouse to return to canada with me on september 22 by going to the embassy of canada in morocco. Is this possible or does it take much longer?
should I start the sponsorship while I am in morocco and have it processed there or start it when i return to canada?

First of all, most visitor visas are refused. Unless your husband has solid ties to Morocco. For instance owns a business, property. More than ties like a wife in Canada. If he has a big bank account. Would help as he has to show how he is supporting himself.
Secondly, it takes roughly 3 weeks of paperwork, police records, stamps, running around for a Moroccan to marry a foreigner. And money.
Thirdly, it is heavily frowned upon to marry on first meeting. Or too soon after meeting.
Fourthly, if there is such a thing. Say you do get married, will you be able to have your wedding, with members from your family and his. Also will you have time for a honeymoon. Unlikely. So you will get married and then have to return home.
Lots to think about. Because if not all of these things followed, a visa officer will eat you alive. They refuse for differences in ages. Religion, if a spouse answers one or none questions wrong. You need to have all bases covered is what I'm saying. It's about 7 to 10 months to go through sponsoring a spouse in Morocco.
There is a thread here. It's not busy much anymore.
Sponsoring Husband from Morocco.
Read all you can there.

Thank MaryL.
We are sincere Muslims thank God. We are very compatible and know everything about each other. the VO can bring on the interrogation so to speak because we are prepared and ready :)
We have no family issues as we are open with our parents about everything and respect them both our own and each others.

Why don't you get a tourist visa (TRV) for your fiance in the meanwhile? Because once you file for spousal sponsorship, it is difficult to get a visitors visa. Your fiance would still need to demonstrate ties to Morocco for a TRV application. At least this way your spouse could travel to Canada in the next 6-12 months.
