Hello everyone,
I am a Canadian citizen presently residing and working in the USA. I am considering bringing my parents to the USA as visitors (B1/B2 visas recently approved) and also plan to take them on a two-week-long trip to Canada. Currently, I am in the process of applying for a Canadian Visitor visa for my parents through the new IRCC portal, and I have a couple of questions that I need clarification on before submitting the application.
Regarding the question asking why a visa is needed, should I select 'To visit family members (non-super visa)' or 'To visit as a tourist' as I am not currently residing in Canada? Although, I do own property there and am a Canadian citizen.
If the recommendation is to 'visit family members (non-super visa)', would it be acceptable to mention in the invitation letter that I am currently living and working in the USA?
Additionally, since I will be covering all of my parent's travel expenses, would it be acceptable to demonstrate the funds from a US bank?
I would greatly appreciate your response.
Thank you!
