Hi,
I am sponsoring my common law partner whom I met while studying abroad in Europe. We don't have any dependent children so we do not have to fill out the Financial Evaluation Form (IMM 1283).
As a recent graduate, I am currently not employed, and I am wondering how I can prove that I can financially support my common law partner for the 3 years? My parents have offered to support me and my common law partner financially but is this allowed? If so, how can it be proven? The checklist only says "If you are not working in Canada, provide other documentation showing that you can support the person you are sponsoring. This must include a detailed explanation of how you plan to support yourself and the sponsored person on a separate piece of paper".
Thanks so much for your help!
