It's a good feeling when it has finally gone, eh?

Quick question: If you have prior travel history in Canada does it slow down the process. The reason I ask is because I spent a year in Canada in 07-08 on a under 35 working holiday visa and read somewhere of someones passport being held for quite some time due to canada travel history.

Hi Crillz,

Im interested to hear what replies you get from this query as I was on the Canada under 35 USIT visa in 2001.

Many people who applied for the spousal visa at the same time as me have recently received their PPR but mine has not shown up yet. I wonder if this is the reason...

i guess if you keep an eye on my timeline you could guage your wait from mine..

I don't think it slows down anything. I know numerous people that had been in Canada for years off and on (work/visitor permits) and have been approved within 4 months. I can't imagine why it would. Although my bf has been in Canada and I think its taking longer in compared to others.

oh sorry, you mean they keep your passport after your send it in.
hmm, i doubt it... wont they already know you were in Canada before they see your passport?

well yes that is why I was worried, I am in Canada on a tourist visa which will probably run it's course about the time when the application process is coming to an end. I will ask for an extension if needed. But it's kind of a weird situation if they hold my passport for sometime and I am in Canada on a tourist visa which will be running out. Anyways, from what has been said it doesn't look like it slows it down. Thanks :)

Not likely, unless you did something wrong on your previous stay :)

Information about your previous visits is available to immigration without the need for them to keep your passport.
