Sponsoring baby born outside Canada for PR holder living in Dubai

Hello Guys,

I just want to share my story as I know many people are struggling ??? as it was my case.

Well, I landed in 2013 and I am planning to back to Canada sometimes this year. My son was born in Dubai and needed to issue him a visa. I googled and asked and all people said that they will deny him the TRV and they said that they will end up issuing TRP and need to cancel my residency in Dubai.....

But in fact, it was very simple process, I logged on cic website, filled the forms, paid online, press send. After one week they requested the passport. I submitted the passport on Wednesday via Aramex, and on Sunday at 9 am I received it back with 5 years multi entry visa.

Please give me some detail because my wife stay in pakistan with my child and I want to reunite with my family as soon as possible. Kidly guide me. Thanks

Since you are a PR, you have to stay in Canada while the PR application for your child is being processed. Short trips away are OK.

You could try applying for a TRP. Since a TRV has been refused twice, it looks like that option won't work.

I would like some details from the original poster about how he got a TRV. The fact is, usually the story is like the poster from Pakistan, where a TRV for a child is refused and a TRP is needed. It could be that visa offices differ in how likely they are to grant a TRV to a child.

It was as simple as I explained it. I submitted a letter stating that I am applying TRV for my son and explained that it could be denied, so, I requested a consideration of TRP on humanitarian ground.

I also enclosed an offer letter stating that I will start work there as my company is relocating me. People in this forum said that it doesn't make any difference, but I believe that it made all the difference as the process was extremely easy that I couldn't even believe it myself given all the complicated experiences I read on this topic.

What I suggest is to reapply for the visa and explain the situation that your wife's PR will expire if she remains OUSTIDE Canada. Also, request TRV and submit your bank account details that you can support your kid while there, and most importantly to state to considered your situation on Humanitarian ground.

Kindly suggest me that Should I apply for my child a TRP from Pakistan (no Visa forms available for TRP on website) because sponsorship under family class takes almost 2 years from Pakistan and my wife already lived outside Canada over three years. I suggest to reapply TRV and trying to put enough funds in your bank account, so hopefully the immigration officer will grant you TRV. Also, explain that you have already moved to Canada and initiated the sponsorship, and the residency of your wife will expire.

Today my online application status updated and in Sponsorship application they wrote" Decision Made" and further write that "We sent you correspondence on June 19, 2015 about the decision on your application" and in PR application status they write " Medical results received by CIC".
Kindly can you explaine that what does these statements means? Is my child sponsorship application approved and they start processing on PR application. Thanks

I am in the similar situation, I am Pakistani working here in Saudi Arabia.

Please let me know which date you landed permanently in Canada? I heard that once you move permanently, there is a residency obligation of 2 years after which you can only apply for the sponsorship of your newborn born outside Canada? Is this true? Please let me know your personal experience in this statement's background.

What would be the next steps now after getting your application approved? When you did medical for your child? As you said, its written there that medical results have been received? Do they really do the medical for the infant? or they ask to submit vaccination card?

Now from June 11 , 2015 they changed the rule if you know that you must live here at least 6 months in each year. Secondly you can sponsor your child at any time, does not matter when even you land, actually it depends upon the age of the child, if child is minor then no need for bank statement and now before application submission you have had to go up-front medical which they have some designated office such as in Pakistan IMO, they do medical for children and spouses up- front medical. But my precious advice is that never take the risk to the baby born outside Canada, if this happened you have a trouble which is unrecoverable. even though you take the undertaken with CIC for 10 years for your child that you never claim any benefits from the Government. I think so now you clear about your questions.

I havn't received any email from CIC. For the fast processing of family class cases CIC introduce the up-front medical and each country have a IMO like offices and first you book an appointment with this office and submit a fee for medical and they will do the medical for child (Infant child- you need a vaccination card too and 2-4 photographs of baby- accordingly Canada visa specification) they give you the stamp medical form on which baby pics and all details and they also send these results to the CIC Mississauga which deals the family class cases. now clear!
