Hello everybody!
I am new to this forum but have already been able to get most of the info I need to prepare our application from reading your posts.
Now I am probably overthinking evrything and it's a silly question but here it is. On the sponsored spouse questionnaire IMM5490E question 4 Did you give your sponsor any gifts? Now, since this question is in the 'First meeting' section of the form I first assumed we need to put down only the gifts we gave each other on our first meeting. But than I reread the whole thing and now it kind of seems to me that they mean all the gifts we gave each other during our relationship ??? So how did you answer this question?

I want to thank everybody on this forum for sharing their experience in this confusing and tiring process. It made my life during the past 2 months I have been working on our application a whole lot easier! :-*

What we have written "on every birthday since 20XX" (year you met)" you do not need to write what gift you gave, this is what we wrote, but anyone here more experienced may clarify my statement

The application specifically says the first meeting. My husband and I wrote down what we exchanged the first time we met. They would not expect you to write a list of every gift exchanged during your relationship as some people have been together for years and the list would be prohibitively long.

We were wondering the same thing at first :D We just assumed they are asking specifically about the fist meeting and only wrote down what we exchanged at that time. If we started listing everything we gave each other durting the 5 years of our relationship it would just be way too long of a list.

Thank you all! That makes it a lot easier, didn't want to list all of it, and would probably not remember anyways :)

It really means at the first meeting. If you gave nothing, in most cultures that is normal and is fine as an answer. If you did give something, that is OK too.

However, for other gifts during the relationship, I would mention them somewhere on the application. You could write for example "We did not exchange gifts at our first meeting, but we have exchanged birthday and Christmas gifts every year since then." You could include some photos of more expensive or meaningful gifts in your selection of photos.
