Are you Canadian citizen or PR? It depends on whether the child will gain automatic citizenship or not as to how complicated it will make things for you.

Depends on where you are in the process, how long it takes to get the forms and documents for the child etc.

Hi I have a few questions regarding filling out generic application form IMM008. My husband is sponsoring me for permanent residence in Canada he is a citizen himself. When I was submitting my documents I was expecting my baby, now that I already have a kid cic has asked us to send an amended IMM008 form listing the child.
My queries are regarding the dependent section of this form. As my child is born outside Canada but apparently be coz of citizen father the child is the Canadian citizen as well. Therefore what should I write in the form question where they asked citizenship of the dependent also if the child is residing outside Canada so what should the living status be? Should it be permanent resident or citizens of the country where the child resides?

If the child is Canadian, s/he is not listed on IMM0008. Include the child's details on a new IMM5406, along with a copy of his/her birth certificate and a copy of the father's Canadian passport or Citizenship Certificate.

Thx for ur reply, however We got a letter from cic last month requesting for an updated IMM008 and IMM5406 both listing the new born child. They even requested for the birth certificate and parents pictures with the new born.

Canadian citizens are NOT included in the IMM0008. It's possible that the VO believes the child needs to be sponsored as well. Send what I listed above and an explanation letter that the child is Canadian and therefore cannot be listed on IMM0008. I suggest you apply for the Certificate of Citizenship ASAP and include proof of that as well.
