Hi, I am from India and currently on my workpermit in canada and my PR is currently In process. Recently I got engaged and I did my court marriage. My actual religious marriage is 4 months from now. I want to add her application to my application. Is it correct idea to have her added to my application now. Since I have already started processing my PR application, please help me how to handle it now. Do we need to provide the marriage photos as proofs. If so within what time we need to provide the photos.

Hi,

The Actual requirement is to provide the marriage certificate, As long as you have marriage certificate you should not have any problem. They do not ask for marriage photographs.

But someone is pointing that there is a high chance that Delhi will ask for the Marriage Photographs. Please advise.

They ask for the photos when you are sposoring your wife. But in this case you will be adding your spouse as a dependant since your PR application is under process. So marriage certificate will suffice.

I went through the same scenario and was asked only the marriage certificate for marriage proof.

Hi group,

I recently became a PR in canada and am in India at the moment. I will be getting married soon and am wondering how do I take my wife to Canada along with me after marriage. I am aware that I will have to sponsor her when i AM in CANADA, however in that case it looks like she will have to stay in india for atleast 8 months before she gets her PR. Wondering if there is any other better way for me to bring her inside canada in short time.

People who has been through this, Please advise. :)

Just a FYI as i read on online LAW thread, do contact CIC and advice them changes in your maritial status because if you dont while your file process, they have right to refuse your landing/immigration as per false information in the form signed by you.

Good Luck!

The OP has already "landed" as a PR. If he wishes to bring his wife, she will have to apply for a TRV, unlikely to be issued, as her purpose is to remain in Canada permanently, not visit.

hi,

i am on a workpermit in canada and now i am eligible to apply for PR under CEC. i was thinking if i could get court marrige done before applying so that i can add my spouse as a dependent in my file. and then go after 6 months and get the religious marrige done. Will it be a good to do so or it will effect my PR application?

i agree with Cric and gopal answers.

Marriage certificate would be fine for processing PR application.

@chandrats: Hi I am in a similar situation as yours, I got my marriage registered in Canada last month and still waiting for my marriage certificate, once I get it I will add my wife with my application.
I see you started the thread couple of months ago...Have you already added your spouse? If yes, how did you pay the application fees?
I emailed CPP-O last month and they asked me to submit a bunch of forms but the application fee part is not clear as they asked to pay as per Detroit visa office guidelines and now Detroit is closed, I am not sure how to pay the fees!
Please advise
