FBI clearance should take less than 3 weeks if you were not involved in any illegal activities. As mentioned by other members, you will have to provide FBI clearance for your stay in the States.

SSN is not mandatory. I received my FBI clearance within 2 weeks and I didn’t provide SSN as I didn’t have one.

Don't be so scared. This is a regular process....many applicants do that. The spouse neither has to be in Canada nor has to have a Canadian Work experience as long as the Principal Applicant fulfills the requirements. Once you get married - email Ottawa and ask them what documents are needed...
