In the plan to return to Canada question, my sponsor still has ties to Canada like his drivers license and health card and bank and credit cards. Are these things good to give copies of in proving intent to return to Canada? He does have house too but we thinking if adding these other items helps in any way more

Showing he has bank accounts and credit cards is good, as is his license. Home ownership is good. He will probably need more than this, though. For example, he could get proof that whoever is in the house now will be leaving, and he will be moving back in (if that is the case).

You can include them but I wouldn't expect them make or break the case for your intentions. I've stayed in the Philippines for lengthy periods of time and have had NO difficulty keeping my drivers' license, health card, bank and credit cards all in order . . . anybody can do that! Even with no intention to return. The 'home' is the most important item you have listed.

Possible Job offers or just proof of him searching for a new job can help too.

I have been living in my husband's country for the last year and a half. I sent 3 job offers, and ads online of people looking to hire in my profession, I included facebook chats of me talking to family about my return and how excited I am to come home with my husband. We showed house rental ads we have been searching for, but since he owns a house I think that will be good proof for you. You could get your family to write and sign letters or notarize them, and say they know you are coming home and have been helping you arrange to come home.

The only thing they asked for, was when our application was almost finished they wanted me to resend updated job offers to prove they were still available for me. Other than that I had no issues, and I have been jobless in a different country for a year and a half and I am the sponsor. I also wrote a letter to the officer explaining why we want to move to Canada and why I don't want to stay in my husbands country. Depending on which country your sponsor is from you can say how much safer you would feel in Canada.

Hope that helps!
