Hi all,
I am a US citizen living in Canada with my boyfriend. On the 7th, we will officially be Common Law and want to apply for PR soon.
My bf is thinking of leaving his current job to pursue a business for a while. He has 50k in savings in the bank to support us in the meantime. If we submit our PR app and he doesn't have a job, is this going to cause issues in the eyes of CIC? Will he still be able to sponsor me?
We don't have many expenses and live frugally, so we definitely won't have any issues supporting ourselves. And if the business plan doesn't work out, we'll have more than enough time to secure jobs again. I was thinking we could just explain all this to CIC in a letter when we submit our application.
I don't want to be called for an interview or make our process any harder.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
