Hi everyone!

I've been reading your posts for a couple of months, thanks for all the advices you already provided me! So I have a lot of question about my case but let's beggin with that one: Should I declare that I live outside Canada or not?

There is my situation:
- I am going "live" with by boyfriend at the end of november in Peru. We plan to get married and apply for his PR maybe by march or april.
- I don't know exactly when I will come back to Canada, but probably by september. Il believe by the time we apply for sponsorship I will have the exact date. I have a round-trip ticket but I will change the date of return. So I would be like maybe 10 months living over there.
- My status in Peru will be turist for the firsts months. I can apply for temporal residency after we got married so I suppose I will and maybe I could work for a couple of months.
- My main source of income is still a job in Canada. I do freelance work for a canadian company part time. I can all do that using Internet.
- Has I live in Quebec, I can ask for a year living abroad without loosing my right to public medical insurance (RAMQ)
- I will not have any lease or property in Canada for living. Like every time I travel I will just look for something else when I come back.

So, what do you think? I would like to declare that I am living in Canada but currently in Peru for temporary period. For the only reason than I don't know how I could prove than I plan to "settle back in Canada"(certainly not looking for a job or a appartment 6 months before I come back). But I don't know if I can do that has I will be there more than 6 months. On the other hand, I suppose it kinds of prove than the relationship is guenuine.

(I'm a canadian citizen)

Thanks!

I know but we don't wanna be separated for like 1 year and half....By september I believe my acceptation has sponsor will be done and we would have receive CSQ. We would just have to wait for his acceptation. I think it's about 7 months for Lima office and 80% of files are done wihtin 12 months so...

Thanks for the advice but that would be with a illimited budget for tickets and rent....It would be really expensive to come back just to send the aplication and then go back in Peru. And I don't think it would change anything that I spent 2 weeks here and go back. I've been told by an agent at CIC that I could send my aplication from there. But I just didn't ask how much time I could spent there before I was considered having residency there and not here in Canada.

The other option would be saying that I plan to come back in may (my return ticket date is currently may). It would be less than 6 months in that case so I suppose it's really "temporary". And then not notify them when I change the ticket date, has I am aloud to do it. If they ask for more proofs at interview or something we can just say that I changed my date I we didn't notify them because it was not an "important change" in the aplication.

Anyway. Thank you. Il will call them and just ask about those options maybe they can aswer me.

Will you be maintaining a Canadian address that you can put down? IMHO that would save you having to prove your intent to settle in Canada. Apply while your status in Peru is still legitimately "tourist".
