I have a Canadian friend and he is married to his wife for the past 7 years. They are both an elderly couple and no children together. He was living with her in Venezuela her country of origin, but they are both now residing in Ecuador. The sponsor tried to get them legal status here in Ecuador but unfortunately didn't make it in time so now they are both out of status here and none of them want to go back to Venezuela since some of you kow that country is very dangerous and with food shortage....
Anyhow my question is, Will it be a problem if the husband tries to sponsor the wife but are both out of status in another country? She can't get a visa to Canada since she was deported so he will remain by her side until they both can go back. He is sending application to CIC and was wondering if they will reject it based on that or will they have to go back to her country of origin and just wait there? If someone knows the answer to this I would appreciate it as they came to me for help but I don't know myself....
