Hi Folks,

I am currently in my temprorary closed work permit and applying SOWP for my wife who is residing outside Canada.

My question is, what happens after she applied for SOWP, if there is a change of my status from TRV to PR, does it affect her canadian immigration, since my status changed during her SOWP processing time?

TIA

Once you get a PR, all your TRV's stand cancelled & spouse is ineligible for SOWP. Therefore you can Sponsor your wife to become a PR if certain conditions are met with.

Your spouse should be included on any PR application. She should also be receiving PR if hopefully you listed her as accompanying and not non-accompanying. No matter what she must be added to your PR application or else you will never be able to sponsor her.

I just got recently married but my PR AOR is done 3 months back, so I don't have her in the PR when applied

My situation is that I am currently in my work permit, but if during her SOWP processing my situation changes to COPR. Will her visa to entering Canada becomes Invalid?

Have you notified IRCC that you are now married and have you added her to your application as either an accompanying or non-accompanying dependent?

No I haven't notified them yet. My application marriage status is still single as it was when I applied

It's mandatory you notify them and add your spouse to your application.
