SOWP applied can also apply visitor visa

Hi everyone

I’m in Canada on my LMIA close work permit
I have applied for my SOWP wife and 2 minor children visa on 1 st of January 2024 .
But it’s taking ages .
My question is can I meanwhile apply for TRV for my family .
Just want to mention I had applied their TRV in January 2023 when. I was in India but got refused due to insufficient funds and strong ties to Canada that was my younger brother who was on his work permit in Ontario.

Hope I didn’t complicate the story .

You can certainly apply for the TRVs however it's hard to say what the outcome will be. The SOWP indicates you want your family to come to Canada long term while applying for a TRV is for a short term visit. You can certainly try. Good luck.
