SOP not required, but is it really useful?

So since I HAVE to get my visa approved from the first attempt, I have decided to write a statement of purpose.. but I have thought of something today:
That everybody applying to canada will write the same thing "attain high quality education to help my suffering country in the future..etc." right? Doesn't it seem useless? Or do I have some misunderstandings here? Can anybody breifly explain to me what is a statement of purpose and what should i write in it? I am almost 18 years old and i have been accepted in york university in Canada, but SOP is not required to be submitted for people in my country. Do I need to submit it? Or will it affect my application negatively?

If you think , that there is something that you need to explain to the Visa offier like low grades , irrelevant course . ties in canada or any other thing which can affect your file negatively , then you should must use a good SOP.

However , if you passed out with good marks , have no gaps in your study and a rellevant course .
Then , i don't think you need any SOP to get visa successfully.

But , still it depends on your luck , they sometimes rejects visa of genuine students ( with or without SOP ) with almost no genuine reasons.

I see. My only worry is ties in my home country, how can i convince them that i will return to my homecountry but without writing an SOP? What documents can I mention in my application? Or is it better that I mention that in an SOP and keep my fingers crossed?

Thank you.

Is that it? Well then im good. The only thing is my mother works internationally in Jordan, and I am living with her currently. My father works and lives in my home country which is Palestine. Will that make any difference?

And what is SPP? I am just applying through VAC in Jordan. Could you please explain? Thanks.
