Something to watch out for on ECAS.

Once I had received AOR for my Citizenship application, I went on to ECAS to check it out.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the "Mailing Address" was set to the one I used for my PR card delivery, over 4 years ago. It was not the one provided in the Citizenship Application forms.

I've now submitted an update via ECAS but it's possible that the Discover Canada book has already been sent there instead of the correct address. The address update can take up to a couple of weeks to be applied.

A lot of us had that problem. Submitting a request to update it resolved it. Note, if your mailing address is the same as home address, after the update, your mailing address will disappear.

Also, people here have pointed out that the mailing address usually automatically gets corrected after application begins processing, "In Process" status on ECAS. But safe to submit a request now, rather than wait.

Also, IRCC is no longer mailing a physical copy of Discover Canada. They provide a link in the AOR email attachment to download the audio, or pdf versions, and/or to order a physical copy.

If you didn't provide an email address on the form, only then a physical copy is mailed out by default.

Edit: in my case, address update took upto 48 hours, but can take longer.

Interesting... I had no idea that it was such a common problem.

As for the book. The ECAS status implies a physical book but, as you say, the link is in the AOR PDF document anyway.
Pretty much academic in my case as I'm above the age threshold for the language/test requirements. Thank you C-6.

I find that even after changing my address in the ecas, they are still getting it wrong. I.e. missing the street name and the PO Box # that I entered. Very strange.
