i am here to give u some updates , first of all tx for ur support and ur answers on this forum..

my husband got his letter today , i am waiting for mine in a fews days ..it was , like we expected a refusal and if only u knew the reason :

- we both come from the same village and we didnt do a big weeding and this is not usual from the lebanese pple .. ( even if we explain every thing not good enought ))

- the time we stayed together is not long enought (i went there for a month ) , and i took more vacation then i take usualy .

- we start talking on a internet since 2006 after someone introduce us so maybe it s arrange ( how should i meet him , in a bar in a middle of the ocean ???? )

- we dont have the same backround , i am educated and my husband has complete a professionel diploma ( not good enought for them ) i am divorced and have a child ..

- and my best one and the most furious : u didnt have enought evidences @@@@ my husband had with him a suit case full of evidences , the pictures that i send was almost intimate , my husband had more , the bells from 2006 of telephone not less than 400 $ a month , calling cards , skype conversation , more than 300 pages and more ..... all of than not enought evidences .. i am very pissed about what he said ..

in my heart i know i have a true weeding , it doesn t have to be like diana s but its still my weeding and my life and my husband so i will fight ..

i am going to lebanon , nchalla this summer , he want s proof i will get more proof and i will see , nchalla i get back pregnant , i will see than how more evidence he want .

04102008 , I am so sorry, really from the bottom of my heart,
It isn't fair to refuse you and your husband. I will pray for you so things will be better.
if you let me tell you my opinion in what you have written as cause of refusal.
-Big wedding: it isn't a must, everyone make the weeding he want and the one he can afford, in my case , I didn't want to make a wedding, but my parent insist on a wedding.
- You stayed with him one month, but you know him since 2006, it isn't logic.
- The Fact that someone introduce you to each other, well, you live in canada and he is in lebanon, you weren't going to meet him in the mall or at the supermarket???
In my opinion, witch I told you that before, and witch is based on what I have read on this forum, the fact that you are divorced with a child and that you are older than him, might be the main cause for refusal, even that it isn't logic, beeing divorced isn't like being a criminal???
Make some research about appealing, there are good post here concerning this issue.
It is good that you are coming to lebanon, but as once PMM said to someone on this forum and other as well, being pregnant or getting pregnant don't make a proof dor them, cause they might say that the pregnancy happedned by mistake or something, I don't know...
Wish all the luck, and stay strong and focused so you will be able to know what to do, but it is urgent to serach about appeal, because there is a time frame for appeal.
Good Luck...

Sorry for hearing the bad news.
Again it has nothing to do with how much evidence you are providing but rather how the application it has been presented. They want all evidence included when u submit your application. I'm so furious the fact long distance relationship can be a problem for immigration and you have to suffer for it. Some people can't afford to see each other every month especially when they live so far away.
I mean age perhaps if she is 60 and he is 30 it could be a problem. But based on what she said she had lots of evidence and they didn't want to look at it???? I wonder if they make their decision before the interview and not after!!!!
Good luck during your appeal process. We will pray for you.

hi every one

plz dont reply to me in private mail when u can do it here unless its really private ( i dont say that in a mean way )

for thos who ask , i never send money to my husband coz he is working and supporting himself ..

at the bigginning i send all the proofs that they ask , i won t belive that if my marriage was not true , i will spend this kind of money on telephone bills , sending gifts and almost intimate pictures , and yes we had pictures with my mom and his parents ..
i didnt make a big weeding coz i didnt go to lebanon for 15 years and i just went there to see my husband so i did a small weeding and i wanted to wait till i am in montreal to do something big with my friends here and my dad and brother , coz they work and couldnt come with me and my mom ...

i can t visit as often as i want to coz i have to work here and support my son and stay with him and going to lebanon is not free as u may know ..

when i went the first time i left my son here with my ex coz he had school and i couldn t take my vacation with him but this year is different ..

i repeat for those who ask my mom was with me , and his familly all of them since they live in lebanon ,
at the interview my husband had letters from my dad and his dad stating that they r 100% with the marriage but guess what he didnt want to see it , we had more bells , more conversations on skype , more pictures .. the gifts etc.. but he didn t see them .. i had in my original file a letter from my employee stating that i am a good worker from 12 years at the same place , i am a nurse so i dont think that i am a bad worker or i dont have a good career..
i talk to my husband often and our parents talk too so in the appeal i will take some of those bills and show them that our parents talk ..

i repeat i know in my heart and in god eyes that i have more than a real marriage and i will figt this non sense coz i dont belive that after a 30 minutes interviews and this agent didn t botter to ask for evidences ..this is strong for me coz in the letter for the interview they ask for his passeport and evidence that we are talking since 2006 til now , why he didn twant to the evidences coz his mind was already made before , the interview was just an excuse ..

anyway i wont comment more , tx for ur support and ur comment but plz dont critisise coz it not the time , i came here to tell u what happen for u to be aware and be ready ..

tx for all of u and nchalla evry thing for u will be ok coz the pain that i have in my heart no one can know unless the live it ..

04102008 while I was reading other threads I came across that Damascus visa office refuse a lot of people for stupid reasons. Good luck in your appeal and don't get discourage even if it's hard to do so.

04102008 I would appeal and get a good lawyer for that.. If you want to be reuinited with your husband I think your best chance is that way. You will need lots of evidence to support your case and a good lawyer to represent you. Inshallah it will work out. Best of luck to you..

I am very sorry to hear that.

Considering the facts... i would recommend that u appeal .. I wouldn't apply again because this doesn't change the fact that u are divorced and have a kid... more chances to win if you submit new evidance to an open minded canadian judge... rather than closed minded IO...

When i was with my sister on her appeal... she was going through like if my sister is compatiable with her husband.. ie in terms of education, age... background, etc.

If you appeal and pay a lawyer to help you, this will show that u are serious...

If you are in Nova Scotia.. I know an excellnet lawyer ... le tme know if u need his name... he is the best in Halifax....I am not related to him by any chance... but he really helped my sister... he also answers emails for free...

Fairouzm, did your sister won the appeal. How long it took her when she appealed it.
I think 04102008 lives in Montreal. I'm not sure if they go through different process. I don't even know why her husband interview was in Damascus instead of Lebanon.

iam sorry for the refusal.
her husband had his interview in damascus because he was applying to quebec, quebec has its own office at the embassy in damascus but not in beirut.

i dont think an IO plans to refuse in advance, if he did he wouldnt have asked ur husband for an interview, interview coasts CIC resources.
he might have answerd in a diff way during the interview, maybe he was confused or doesnt speak english well and didnt ask for a translator.
age difference alone, is not a reason to refuse nor doing a big wedding or even being married b4, the group of these things might weight againts u. plus we dont know about ur husbands history, have he applied for immigration before?was refused entry to canada? applied for refugee in canada or any other country?

we cant judge why ur husband was refused but u shud consider all reasons possible and see what matches with ur situation.
but based on my experince the immigration are EXTREMLY fair.

My sister was refused on May 2005 from Syria... for same silly reasons... without an interview or asking for more documents....

She won the appeall on june 06, However syria didn't do their work fast enough and gave him visa on april 07

I think now u may get a faster appeal hearing because it used to be really bad back then. But then after the appeal u are still in the Office's hand again and for some reason they play the delaying game. It seems that they are bunishing people for winning the appeal.

Welcome back Boujasim.
Did you do your interview yet? Wanted to ask how long usually they give you in advance to prepare for your interview.
Also Boujasim if you don't mind sharing since how long your file has been transfered to Damascus (timeline).
