SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBER/ Health card : Temporary resident to permanent Resident

Hi All,
Once we become permanent resident, can we apply SIN online or in person is needed.
I want to know the procedure who has done it recently.

Normally you have to go in person to get your SIN number. However, I applied for an extension to my temporary SIN number in June 2020 during the height of the pandemic and they were allowing you to apply for a SIN number through the online system. They were accepting scanned copies of permits and documents which they usually never do.

For a Health Card you will have to go to a DMV where you need to provide proof of residence in your province (like rental agreement) and your permanent resident card.

Pr cards take a long time. COPR should be enough.
