Guys, I believe that I'm a victim of marriage of convenience immigration fraud. I have reported it and I would like to know what will happen next. Does anybody know if they are going to notify me of their decision or what's going to happen? Can I call them and ask about the case?

Thanks

They will not tell you anything or notify you of any decision.

Wouldn't that information be important in my divorce? Would my divorce lawyers be able to find out any info?

This information is regarded as confidential and outcomes will only be known to the person who the report was issued against.

You can still take whatever evidence you have and use it in your divorce - you however won't have access to CIC's decision.

Thanks for the info guys. Just one more question, what are the possible outcomes for the person of the investigation.

1. IRCC decides not to investigate and nothing happens.

2. IRCC investigates but doesn't have enough proof to revoke PR status and nothing happens.

3. IRCC investigates and has enough proof to show fraud and revokes PR status.

Does IRCC ever talk to the person in question? Or the victim during their investigation? If they decide to revoke PR how would the sponsor know that they are not responsible anymore for the person they are sponsoring?

I was in a similar situation few years ago and i reported the fraud to CIC, they will not respond to you and my Ex still has her PR status and they did not revoke it (but since our divorce, she decided to go back to her home country so she have stayed out of Canada for more than 5 years so her PR status is automatically cancelled)

FYI - her PR status is not automatically cancelled once she's out of the country for more than 5 years. She's still a PR until it's actually revoked.

Thanks for the info. Did they call your wife for assessment? It looks like they called my wife to come in for assessment, I'm not sure if that's a good thing for me.
