Hi my cousin is about to begin with his Sinp application. He studied Bachelor of computer arts and his major is Media production. His experience of job matches with NOC 10022 which is Adverising, marketing and public relations manager.

my question is I have seen many draws but I haven’t seen his NOC in any of those. What if he is not nominated. How do they do selection? Is it just random draws or they just pick the highest job in demand NOC. If yes than what is the point of even applying if they are not even choosing this Noc from so many years plz help

SINP is based on NOCs in demand. If the NOC is not in demand in Saskatchewan then it is not selected. So your cousin needs the NOC and a high enough SINP score for that draw to be selected. For SINP, your NOC must also match your education.

Do you live in Sask?

I would like to give your cousin 100% assurance that he will not be getting a job in that NOC, especially if he has no Canadian work experience and doesn't already live here. I have 15 years' of first-world marketing/comms/journalism experience and even I can't get that NOC and my PR is approved, and I've been living in SK for 3 years. That NOC commands usually $100k+ salaries and kind of requires you to have been in the industry a long time and have connections in the city etc. A degree won't cut it. Being good at the job won't cut it. These are highly specific jobs that are only given to people who are very, very well-established in Canada.

I am this NOC, the one below: https://noc.esdc.gc.ca/Structure/NocProfile?objectid=6SaTbn3pqYkSUTbL0wuVxpqg855Uknwq83HlX6omQGw=

I also have no idea what a Bachelor of computer arts and media production has to do with that NOC. Can you explain how you made the connection? Media production and computer arts sound like graphic design to me. I don't think I've ever heard some in media production and computer arts do a comms director-type role.

Again, I would like to give you a written guarantee that your cousin or any recent immigrant to Canada will not be getting a NOC 10022 job, so please don't even try.

Well tough luck if it demotivates you - that's the harsh reality of skilled migration. Can you tell us what jobs he has done in the past? If me of all people - a journalist and marketer for 15 years with British education and experience - can't get a NOC 10022 job AND lives in Canada AND has PR, then there is NO WAY in the world someone from Pakistan is going to either. Especially not without Canadian experience and god-like English fluency and immense understanding of marketing.

Think of it this way:
  • NOC 10022 is an executive/director position. Unless you were the Head of Communication/Chief Corporate Officers Officer for a very well known brand, you're just not going to get a job. Period.
  • NOC 11202 is the specialist position, which typically works under NOC 10022. Think of a marketing analyst or communications specialist. These are attainable jobs as they're "lower ranked".
Again I have no idea what media production has to do with these NOCs. That sounds like graphic design and animation... not sure if you even have the right NOC here based on his education.

thank you for clearing than I wont go for NOC 10022, as I read the job responsibilities for NOC 11202 which is almost the same which he does in Pakistan for almost 12 years. ok so his experience totally matches with NoC 11202 as per his education is concerned its not graphic desugn or animation in his courses which he took has advetising media bussiness mentioned which he studies hasadvetising businees related courses . i have the screenshot but i cant share it here as there no option to share picture.

u can giuve me ur whatsap number i will send you there. and also u said u live in canada for 3 years? what is iur education for NOC 11202. and if you were in canada for 3 years than why you applied for pnp? how were you living in canada without pr?

I'm uneducated and did an unconventional pathway - no degree or anything. I did work experience as a journalist in Britain when I was young and then employers kept giving me jobs. After I worked for 15 years I came to Canada on a work holiday visa and got nominated while working for a Canadian company.

This is one of those fields where you don't need a formal education if you're lucky enough to get away with some work experience and have access to a work holiday visa to get the nomination.

u live in Saskatchewan? Since u r in the same job can u help him getting a job? If he gets a job offer he will get 30points for it as heonly has minimum points so far for not having any connection in Saskatchewan or neither a job offer if u can pm me need to tell you something

so far he only has 61 score as he doesn’t have any connection in Saskatchewan and also doesn’t have any job offer. If he gets a job offer I think it will be sooooo much chances for him to get nominated
So no chance with 61 as most draws are over 70. Chances of a job offer without a work permit or living is Saskatchewan is probably almost zero. He needs to find an employer who proves that no one in Canada can do the job, only him. The employer has to have the job approved through SINP and your family member must get a SINP Job Approval Letter from the employer.

Nope I won't put my reputation on the line by recommending someone I don't know - that's asking too much. I earned my job offer myself so he'll need to do the same. Agree with naturgrl at 61 points he has no prospect of success in SINP. You'll need to apply for jobs and pray for success or consider another route such as studying, getting a PGWP and then having the opportunity to work and secure a job w/ nomination.

does that job offer has to be related to his NOC and education?
