Hello,

My wife & I got Canada Visa (Saskatchewan Province) which is expiring in July 2017.

We cant go there for long term as of now.

Can we both go there for 1-2 weeks, apply for PR and provide a local address and come back?

Once PR Card arrives, our relative can courier us that?

Then we can go to Canada later whenever we want to?

Is the above option possible?

Regards,
Abhishek

Absolutely.

But when you do go back, make sure that you will be able to make up 730 days in order to maintain your residency obligation .

Thanks for the response.

Yes. 730 days later is fine with us.

I just wanted to confirm that the approach we are taking for first time should not be illegal or invalid as we cant stay there to receive the PR cards personally.

Regards,
Abhishek

As soon as you land (i.e. finish your landing procdure at PoE), you have the right to move freely within Canada as well as leave Canada at anytime. The PR card has only one purpose, and that is to allow you to board a commercial transport heading to Canada. Even if you do not have a PR card, you can apply for a Permanent Resident Travel Document aka PRTD from any VAC. This is issued to Canadian residents who do not have a valid PR Card. You will need your stamped COPR to get this. Th estamped COPR is the most valuable document that you will have, and this will be used as proof of your residency status.

Dear Hot2Cold,

My COPR shows destination city as Regina as I have mentioned this in my application. Can I land in Saskatoon as I have some potential chances of some job interviews in Saskatoon.

Can you share your thoughts on the following

1, CBSA can make issue out of it??
2. Can it lead to mis-interpretation W.r.t to application submitted?
3. I am assuming that as far as province in SK there shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have been in continuos employment but am on a sabbatical since beginning of this year (Jan 2017). Will I lose any points in the SINP application ( under WORK EXPERIENCE DURING THE MOST RECENT FIVE YEARS PRIOR TO APPLICATION) due to this sabbatical?

Thanks ....

Hello,

I am filling up the application and have uploaded the reference letters from my employer. Do I also need to upload proof of salary such as bank statements or salary stubs? I have bank statements but no salary stubs. Will I have to submit them at any time later in the process?

thank you

you need to submit bank statement and make sure that your account should maintain required amount for 3 month prior when you are actually submitting the SNIP online application. I have been reject once due to this issue, moreover you can submit salary slip for current employer only but SNIP will ask you an experience letter from your current employer later while finalizing your SNIP nomination.

PS: What ever I am telling you is via my personal experience and I have faced all these through-out my nomination life cycle.

Thanks Nadeemm.
Request you to please clarify. Are the salary-slips required by SINP (did they ask you for them) OR are they submitted voluntarily?

Salary slips are not required and they dint ask for salary slips either. I mentioned that for current employer if you dont have experience letter then you can attached the latest salary ship for now and submit the application but they will ask for experience letter from current employer later in the process

Hi,

If the next intake opens on (say) 1st April 2017 and I file the SINP application on 1st April, then will the last 5 years of work experience be taken as 1-Jan-2012 to 31-Dec-2016 OR taken as 1-Apr-2012 to 31-Mar-2017?

Thanks in advance....

Sure. There is no problem. Just note that unless you get a direct flight to Saskatoon or Regina, chances are that you will 'land' in one of the major airports like Toronto or Vancouver. In this case, the 'landing' will be completed in one of those cities as they will be you first Port of Entry (PoE). You will need to have onward booking to your province to prove your intent to reside if asked by the Immigration Officer.

Can you share your thoughts on the following

1, CBSA can make issue out of it?? No. They don't care. Your destination should be the province, not the city.
2. Can it lead to mis-interpretation W.r.t to application submitted? Definitely not.
3. I am assuming that as far as province in SK there shouldn't be an issue. Yes. That is the correct assumption.

Thanks.
Congratulations Nadeem. I have responded in line to you. Have a safe landing.
