Hi,
I applied under Family Member Category in September 2011 via Online. After a week, i checked the status of my application which was changed to "in process". However, since that day i am waiting yet (24/Jan/2013). I do send them emails, call them but every time they just say its in process. Last year they had many applications, so its taking more than expected time. One of my friend applied 5 months before me, unfortunately he is still waiting. I do not had any job offer, so i used bank statement option. I see from this forum, few people were lucky enough to get their nomination or response early. Please share your news if you have applied after april 2011 and got your nomination.

I have submitted my file in May 2011 and since then whenever I call them the only response I got is your file is under process. Its been 21 months now..still waiting...

We are currently assessing Family Members Category files submitted in first half of 2011. So, definitely 2011 Family Members Category applications from January to June is already been reviewd at this time. That is my understanding of their response to my question.

It is my husband who was sponsored by his cousin in SK. When we applied last Sept. 2011 under Family Stream, he doesn't have any job offer..during that year, there were no changes yet made for the family stream..so to make it short it was okay if the principal applicant don't have any job offer from any of the employer in SK..It was only the proof of funds that has changes...what I mean is that before the year(s) we applied, it was the one who sponsored will be the one to show the proof of funds..but during the yr. we applied it is the principal applicant responsibility to show the proof of funds.
I would suggest if you will talk to your relative form SK. Hope my informations can help you.

Thank you so much, cpacturan. May I ask what degree is your husband related to his cousin? Is there a degree of relation for a principal applicant to a relative in Canada? Yes, it helps me your input. Are you still around Philippines or landed already in Canada? How did you start your application? Do you have any idea (any members of this forum could answer my query as well) if Manitoba is also offering the same (FAMILY STREAM)? What kind of program is this? Provincial Nominee Program under Family Stream? Or just Family category.
