SINP has now confirmed to me:

the 500 positions WILL NOT count as points for Express entry.
After we get nominated we will have to apply directly to CIC.

this is their exact answer

Are we not eligible to apply for direct CIC express entry scheme once we get nomination from Provincial nomination. Or provincial nominees will only be eligble for CIC EE if they are nominated by province and have a valid job offer?

CIC Express Entry includes the Provinvial Nominee Express Entry.............. or let me put it other way, Provincial Nominee EE is one of the component of CIC Express entry. If you are elgible for CIC EE your application will automatically fall under the Provincial Nominee EE (for the province you will choose in CIC - EE App)

If you go on CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/apply.asp), you will see the following categories:
Skilled immigrants (Express Entry)
Quebec-selected skilled workers (or investor or entrepreneur program)
Start-up visa
Self-employed Persons Program
Family sponsorship
Provincial nominees
Caregivers
Refugees

Cheers mate. This means it will take ages to move to Canada. Almost a year to get nomination (based on current trend) plus further wait from CIC (say around 2 years) to get visa, so all together it will be around 3 years of wait providing everything goes according to the plan. Such a sluggish system

Let me give you a good news, SINP processing time is reduced significantly, and trends suggest that it is going to reduce further, so cheer up pal, yeah the federal processing time is still the same but i have heard from some of my friends even CIC is getting job done quicker than expected.

I see a 1 year 10 months wait for you if everything goes smooth i.e. you didn't miss any document, you fill application correctly,,,,,,,

Your Job Title mentioned on the job letter takes care of somethings but not everything, the immigration officer still would like to see job description (even 3 to 4 lines would work). Also it makes your case stronger if you could provide evidence of your pay.........if you don't have pay stubs or account statements you can provide them copy of your Income Tax Return.

My application has already been tampered with by the fine folks on SINP.

I saw that some of the PDF files I sent have been broken into two different files.
The system states that the modifications were made on January 6th.

It runs so fast. I think the sinp is now just working on your case. Others may wait for a longer time. When you receive sinp's email again for some additional information or documents, maybe they will have time to deal with other cases.
