I was wondering what the hold up with Singapore is? My case is so straigt forward and plentiful of evidence. Our sponsorship developed over 3.5 years before getting married, gone back to visit my wife couple times a year since we first met. My wife is from Vietnan. Why the heck is my case taking so slow. Still in process. They really suck, just wanted to vent. By the way anyone with same timeline sponsoring through Singapore visa office? please share your current situation!

Your app got to the visa office dec 30th which is a holiday time for the new year so depending on how long singapore celebrates lol.So really the visa office did not start it till what Jan 3rd 4th jan feb march april may its only been there 4.5 months.

Its been about 7 and a half months for me, and still nothing. no new, no letters, nothing...
iv been patiently waiting, but those patients is turning into WTF's taking soo long patients.
sometimes i dont know what to do, i know everyone says all u can do is wait
but its really frustrating when u see other ppl on this fourm getting their PPR sooner then others.
Like WAKE UP SINGAPORE! u got people waiting to be with their husbands and wives here!

Singapore BLOWS.....Big Time or should i say Long Time >:(

You are right KIMBO, they do BLOW and still BLOWING...

Kimbo, go see an MP in your city. An MP is a member of parliament. He/she can help you regarding your case. Contacting Miss. CIC is pointless, they won't know anything regarding your case.

Kimbo here is a link for you to find an MP in your area:

I've filed everything about same time as you durian, got approval 07Jan2010 to sponsor and got the approval from Quebec 27Jan2010. Since then I got nothing from Singapore, so I guess they haven't started my wife's case. They could at least send something saying they got the documents and what is the case number for my wife so we can track online or reply to my email. And Singapore is one of the longest when you look at processing times. On the timeline it now says that 80% of cases done by 15 months, that's crazy.

alex84, have you tried logging on to ECAS using your IMM 5401 receipt number? That might work.

Anyone else on the same boat as I am? This process is ver frustration. SINGAPORE sucks big time.

Not really look at the countries that Singapore processes PR applications from.

Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar (Burma), Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam

Guess which ones are notorious for fraud documents and Mala fide marriages? So background checks take time.

just curious which ones are they?

So my question is than, why are other developed nations not effected by this delay? As a Canadian sponsoring a Thai I expect AT least a 5 month delay, realistically 8 as she has some abnormalities in her paperwork, so 12+ if she gets an interview.

At the same time, friends from England and USA sponsor their wifes in under 6 months... seems to me something is wrong with our system not these countries. Is it the fact perhaps we bundle the processing into 9 countries in one office?

So although I have no real quarrels, I understand that a bureaucracy is just that and there is nothing you can do but wait (at least in theory it only has to be done once) I do have to politely disagree and say some blame is put on the CIC's process, and it is in fact a crazy wait time.

Hello all. Anyone with same timeline sponsoring a spouse from Vietnam through Singapore visa office? Please share your experience. I e-mailed Singapore 2 weeks ago and yet no response back from them. Truly a frustrating situation.

Hello all. Anyone care to share his/her timeline on this thread? May all all your hopres and dreams are realized soon.

My application was received in Singapore early April, and I needed to make a change to my wife's phone number on the app (I am hoping this doesn't cause me issues as I had about 12 months of phone logs) due to her sim card getting broken.

I went through the process to make a change and emailed them and asked them to confirm for me when this was done and they actually did reply within ~2 days.

So they do reply, I think they are just overburdened and thus don't tend to quickly reply to general inquiries as to what is going on.

Any good news from Singapore? It's still in process and no ppr or interview request yet. Good luck to all.
