Philippines airlines is the cheapest if landing at Toronto from Singapore.

For foreigners, you need a visa if you are transiting, even if you don’t go out of the airport.

For us Filipinos, we are required to attend a pre-departure orientation (also when transiting), and since I am not going back home, PAL is not an option anymore. My husband will also need a visa as above.

I got my passports recently stamped from SG VFS in 23 days total. Submitted on 12-Feb and received back on 6-Mar. Process was smooth, no appointment needed. Just take all documents as per request. They might say that the documents were bought in without any sealed envelopes. I just mentioned, I forgot to get them in sealed envelope, even the photos were not in sealed one. They have concerns about it, but eventually they accept it.

It was never mentioned in the PPR letter about sealed envelope.

Yeah. I submitted my passport on 26th Feb 2018 and until now still no update and waiting.
Hopefully it'll update soon.

Are you sure? I don't think it is required as it is just like taking connecting flights and we are not doing any immigration clearance to enter Philippines.

Oh,I misunderstood your post!
I went in at around 8:50AM. Got done in 10mins. Just carry all the required docs and print outs as stated in the website.
The timings are:
Application Submission: 08:00 – 15:00 (this applies for passport submission as well)
Passport Collection: 14:00 – 16:00

And you do not need a appointment for passport submission. It's just walk-in.

Submitted our passports today. 30 mins wait time and 10 mins submission. :)

Thank you very much. Yes, I have US and Canada visa both, so guess can enter without any problem. :)

By the way, did you receive your PPR in your CIC account? Did you also have new placeholders for passport and picture? Should I also upload the passport and picture there?

I was not asked anything about sealed envelope and I didn't give anything apart from the passport and printouts!

I received my PPR via email. I don't have any placeholder location to upload passport or picture under my CIC page. I was not asked to upload anything. What are the option of uploading you talking about? Am I missing something here?

I received the PPR letter in myCIC account and under the “View Submitted Application”, there were new placeholders for the passport and picture. Status of my account is “Your action is required”

Nothing needs to be uploaded. Passport submission will suffice.

I checked my CIC account and I don't have such option. May be they were asking for passport submission after PPR, but submitting passport to VFS for processing is enough. So please ignore it. :)
