It's just not right to put people's life on hold for so long!! It's actually pretty terrible!! We haven't really heard anyone's application being processed in the past few months. Awful awful awful..... Hopefully the Singapore VO officers are really looking at our files now and not out partying too hard. I just went to the office recently and guess what? They are only opened every Wednesday from 830am till 930am for enquiries. Rest of the time, it looks closed on the outside.... It used to be opened Monday till Friday morning, then they cut to 3 days in a week and now only one hour a week. It's really terrible.... I just don't get why other visa office is able to process it at a much shorter timeframe than in Singapore.... It has been 4.5 years since I applied for Alberta's nomination...

Hi Forum mates, really there is a very obvious variance between the processing speed of SGVO and other VOs. Worse, some of the seniors here are waiting beyond the committed processing time.
Not sure if the CIC in Sydney, Nova Scotia is aware of these issues, especially when the other VOs are processing faster than their stated processing time. It puts the applicants of SGVO at a disadvantage in PR application.
Perhaps SGVO has put the least priority for PR processing and in particular PNP applicants.
Just my thoughts on this...

I'm not sure if we can write an email about this to CIC Canada to claim about the unfair timeline processing among the Visa offices. It's just not right for the same applicants but some are waiting 12 months but others are waiting for 3 years just because the processing time from different V.O ???

We seriously need to notify CIC NS about this...its tremendously frustrating....

I know some people who got file number in November 2013, and now notified that their files now were transferred to Sydney office in Australia for processing. The processing time there is just 12 months. That is good news for later applicants, right?

Danny,
How many of such transfers do you recall, any light at the end of this bleaky tunnel will sound good.

SGVO seem to have a roadblock in processing PNPs, I have not seen as many cases finalized in the past few months vs other VOs in Asia.
This standstill must be a process issue in the office and I am not certain if CIC Sydney, NS has the answers or control in improving the situation.

I was once informed having PNP nomination is 50% of the overall processing time as most info is already cleared at the province level. But waiting for more than the 27 months timeline don't do justice...

this is pretty bad....does sgvo answer to anyone? the lack of efficiency is horrifying. if they are going to process at this speed, they may as well close down the entire office. if there's a problem with the staffing, then they should hire more people. I have got a feeling that all the delay is not due to problems with processing but with the person that is handling our case

How are processing times calculated?

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) calculates processing times from the day CIC receives an application to the day it makes a decision on the application.

When estimating how long you will wait to receive a temporary visa, you must also take into account up to 10 days of transit or delivery time on top of CIC’s processing time. The time your application will spend travelling to and from CIC will vary depending on where you live.

How often are the processing times for visa offices updated?

These tables are updated every three months to better reflect processing times during the previous 12 months.

If I apply today, will the processing times show how long it will take to finalize my application?

No. The processing times only show the time it took visa offices to approve or refuse 80 percent of applications during a specified period in the past. They may not accurately predict future processing times.

Thanks for sharing. While the audit report was done a few years ago, it does shade some light on what happens in the VO.
Its probably due to the audit that the processing was sped up in that period of years. I have a relative who got the PR finalized within 10 months in 2010 for MPNP.
Perhaps another audit is due from CIC, NS on the current slowdown in SGVO.

Hi Friends,
I have a question , how did you secure your police clearance in Singapore?
Do we need a letter from Canadian Embassy when we get a clearance from SG Police?

Appreciate your replies

Thanks
