Hi Garu, glad to hear that you had a smooth landing process, I plan to land next month as well, did you land alone? If you don't mind, may I ask did you bring cash or bank draft for proof of landing funds? and how much would be safe for 1 person? thanks

You should ask the banks for bankdrafts, but you must declare at the port of entry in Canada if the bankdrafts and cash are more than 10K.

Thanks, but what if my country has a currency restriction to bring out of the country the maximum of $5000/per person and I'm landing alone? is $5,000 sufficient as proof of landing fund? thanks
Same issue is here in Bangladesh as well. This is a problem for single immigrants. People are taking 5000 officially and other 5000 'unofficially'. Have to take a risk either in home country or in port of entry. I think Garu landed with family. Thus he has more pps to endorse money.

Hi sorry for late reply... We are 6 altogether and required to have at least 20k. We had the big amount as bank draft and some cash all declared upon landing. You are required to have at least10k if you are alone.

Hi all advisor,

On 28 Sep, 2012 we received an email from
Citizenship and Immigration
Federal Skilled Worker Centralized Intake Office
Sydney, Nova Scotia
to confirm
my NB PNP application which was received on 27 Jul will be forwarded to Visa office in Singapore for further proccessing.

Only a minor question if there is any shorter timeline given by CIC Singapore for me, an applicant who has currently a son below 17 years old studying in NB for more than a year?

Otherwise in general timeline, please advise how long we should keep waiting for M.R.

Thank you

Dear, welcome to the thread. We are not advisors, just applicants like you. However, you'll receive a file no. and an acknowledgement letter from Singapore. This may arrive in writing. You will not get any priority for the reason you mentioned above. Their processing time is of more or less 18 months. Have to wait around 12 months or more for m.r. Actually, once they start your processing; you are likely to get through quickly. Follow others' timeline. Not discouraging you but u have to be mentally prepared for a good waiting period. Good luck.

Hi Moncton,

Your son in NB is just one of the positive points on your application. Who knows? Every application has its own positive points, so it depends on each visa officer, Moncton.

The timeline now is 12-18 months, except for complicated cases such as, background check or fake suspect.

Best wishes,

Thanks CRS and Danny2009

Yours is more than what I expected.

Will keep you informed of my file development.

Hi ... Letter which I got from CIC doesn't say @ which VO they had transferred my file. R u sure they specified vo office in your AOR ? Please confirm. It's better to change VO by giving reasonable reason like changing your resident country or like as sing vo is taking much time. Don't know y? Small country with smarter systems than another ciuntries than also poor situation .
