Hi Guys,

I'm new to this forum.
Currently back-reading the thread to gather information but would greatly appreciate any advise from you all.

My wife is currently in Canada and she has applied for PR under Live-in Caregiver program wherein I am under spousal sponsorship.
She had already submitted documents necessary for our application since last year and now it's my turn to accomplish several documents.

I've already done my medical examination and the medical report has already been submitted/received by CIC.
Last August 31, I've sent(via mail) "background check documents" such as SG police clearance, IMM5406E, IMM5490E and a few documents to support/prove that we are married to High Commission of Canada here in Singapore.

I just want to ask(to those who have undergo same process) how long does High Commission of Canada-Singapore takes to review documents.
If in case everything goes well, what would be the next step?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

You are in the wrong section of the forum. This section is for family sponsorship.

Your wife is not sponsoring you- she is applying for PR through the Caregiver Program from inside Canada and you are an accompanying family member. The application is being processed in Vegreville, Alberta.

Since your wife is applying for PR and is currently a foreign worker, you should search the FW forum for threads discussing similar applications. Nobody here has the same circumstances or application type as you and your wife.

Singapore will be responsible for giving instruction to have a medical examination performed, verifying police checks and for conducting your background check. Once your wife is approved Singapore will then ensure your medical and background/police checks are still valid and confirm the RPRF fee has been paid before issuing your visa.

See below and good luck.

OP 24 Overseas Processing of Family Members of In-Canada Applicants for
Permanent Residence

5.2. Responsible CIC offices

All applications for in-Canada processing for permanent residence are submitted to the Case Processing Centre in Vegreville (CPC-V), which becomes the chief holder of the file.

However, the CPC-V may transfer the file to the Canada Immigration Centre (CIC) nearest the principal applicant’s residence if an interview or other processing is required locally.

After assessing the initial application for eligibility, the CPC-V will notify the appropriate visa office abroad with details of all eligible family members to be processed for each case.

Good luck!

No interview call yet! We got married on early this year.
In my GCMS note i saw Eligibility is Recommend Passed. Also in the notes the officer opined the relationship as bona fide.
Can they still call for an interview?

Hi

In theory, yes an interview is still possible.

Most interviews in a spousal sponsorship application are due to eligibility being questioned.

Therefore, it's highly unlikely there will be an interview in your case.

Hello Guys,
My spousal application is processing in Singapore but right now I am currently here in the Philippines because I have a pending employment pass that is why I cannot stay in Singapore,
and now I received my Medical Examinations Instructions. Do you think I can do my medical exams here even though my visa office is in SIngapore?
Thank you for your help

I dont know. I received photos back by mail today.

Hi

The vast majority of the time SVO will return original photos back to the couple when they finish processing the application and a visa is ready to be issued.

Singapore sends a generic PPR email that states that they are returning your photos/documents you submitted in support of your application.

I expect you will receive PPR very soon.

The only time your photos being returned to you would be a bad thing is if it's accompanied by an interview request letter.

Congratulations

You dont have to do medical in Singapore.
Our Visa office is also Singapore but the applicant lives in Bangladesh and we did our medical there.
Try going to a panel physician in Philippines, if they accept your medical request you should be good!

I think it should be ok.
Why some candidates are getting interviews and some not, is still a mystery.
But most probably the case seems suscpicious to them for some reason.
You case is processing smoothly.
Lets hope for the best.

Thank you.

However, they asked for a police certificate from the country where I used to stay. I only sent the one from my country of origin. So still need to wait I guess.
