Actually you just reminded me it will take more than 2 months after my child is born.

My main concern was the health of the baby being just few months travelling on the plane or my wife being pregnant travelling on the plane. It's possible but something I want to avoid.

If I recall when my daughter was born the proof of citizenship took 6 months. My friend's daughter it took him 9 months and I've heard others it took more than a year. The processing time on CIC is 9 months if applying outside Canada.

Than you add another month to get the Canadian passport after you received your proof of Canadian citizenship.

lol so I'm looking at October 2017 earliest for my yet to be born child to land in Canada.

After doing some research, you can apply for a Limited Validity Passport for the newborn at the same time as you apply for the Citizenship Certificate and it would only take 2 or 3 weeks.

The limited validity passport doesn't seem to be automatic. Will give it a try anyways when the time comes.

You have to convince them the travel is urgent so it's another one of those discretionary processses. I guess having your parents and sibling travelling to Canada and leaving the baby behind is considered urgent but you never know with these government workers. Had a hard enough time just getting my daughter's passport.

I read a few threads on here about it and the consensus is that wife needing to land as PR is reason enough to apply.

I just recieved my notes after emailing ATIP about it a second time. The note at the end simply says interview required and nothing else
Event 1 is interview and reason eligibility. What I also found somewhat weird is that under client details for both my wife and I it says search date is the same day about 20 mins before we got the interview letter email.

The questions were easily answered. My wife has her daughter coming to Canada as well, under my sponsorship, but, she did not come initially. She will come later in 2017.

So the officer asked why she didnt come with her at this time.Other questions were:

Who is here at the airport to pick you up?
Where are you going? What is your husbands name? Is your husband still employed?
What is your address in Canada?

Good luck to all waiting!

Congrats. March already!!!

I have a question regarding submitting passport after receiving PPR.
There is a form that need to be filled in Appndix B of the PPR letter which ask for the Applicant, Spouse and children's information. Do my wife's need to put anything in the spouse column like her husbands information? I think only applicant (my wife's) information need to be filled as I am already in Canada right? We not have any kids yet.

That's great to hear. I just hope it doesn't come to that point having to wait until next year.

On Appendix B you need to put the information of your spouse or kids (if any) not necessarily accompanying. This is the instruction on Appendix B, "Please complete this form for yourself, your spouse/common-law partner, and your dependent children, whether or not they are accompanying you to Canada. Send the completed form with your passport(s) or if applicable, photocopy(ies) of passport(s). DO NOT send passports for non-accompanying family members."

Maximum how much time will be taken for passport back from VFS??
Submitted passport today!
