Mikeymyke is a extremely knowledgable poster. Since he and I joined the March thread months ago, we have routinely shared our opinions and I have read nearly every one of his posts. Which is a lot. :P. The main thing with mikey is he genuinely cares about all of us getting together with our loved ones as soon as possible and wants to help us all achieve that goal. The other side to this amazing trait is, he has little tolerance for persons abusing this system and putting in little effort, expecting to get the same results as those who spend the time doing so. Believe me when I can say his post was not one of those situations.

johnnycage is an example of someone putting in the effort, from reading his story, and the frustration level of being refused TRV is comparable to hopelessness and lack of trust in people who fail to see that two loved ones are desperately trying to be together. I feel bad for the refusals and believe johnny and spouse both did everything you could, but it was just the luck of the draw, or lack of it thereof.

Either way, may you both get a speedy visa and I believe it will happen sooner than you predicted it would when applying. ;)

When you think about it, it's kinda a joke that it all depends on the Visa Officer. You just have to hope to get lucky. I wouldn't mind too much about the excessive delays if it wasn't so hard to get into Canada as a tourist while waiting. I don't know if everybody's in the same boat, but for me my wife tried 3 times and received 3 refusals so we basically gave up hope on getting her to Canada before she gets her PR. Keeping couples apart from each other for such a long time is so bad.

Anyway... where is your spouse from?

Applicant was from outside Khon Kaen... met sponsor in mall in BKK
Where is your wife from?

SVO did not ask for full re-medical, rather they ask for on Tuberculosis /Chest X-ray test and cost is less than half.

I understand from the blog that the re-medical usually is only Tuberculosis /Chest X-ray test.

They are kind of asking for an extension as this is what we received as well
Our original medical was done in Nov 2012 and they requested just the quick checkup with the doctor and a new chest x-ray

Once new x-ray was received... they extended the medicals to 2 years after the date of the original medical... not the year from the new xray

Hi diyabrar,

Still "application received". I know they are working on it though, because we recently sent an address change by mail and the address changed on ECAS.

I agree. Thanks for the wishes and I hope the same for you too.

Ok! when ur file goes in process it wil mean ur interview is waived but till then there might be small possibility for interview....due to the fact that ur spouse applied for trv before marrage..(if iam not wrong)

The refused trv after marrage is not a red flag but before marrage is..

The only reason i brought this up is because i saw a lot of cases went for interview due the fact that the sponsored person had a refused student visa or trv on their records

SOV requests for my passport submission, but they didn't ask to do re-med. My medical was done on August 9, 2013. Are they going to ask for my re-med after I submit my passport? Should I contact SOV to ask about it to save the waiting time?

Krabi is so beautiful. I met my wife in Phuket. She lives currently in Bangkok.

Medical is valid for one year. That's why they didn't ask for remed.

But it's already passed one year now. Will they ask for it later before they issue my visa?
VO can extend medical validity I think up to 15 months. So in your case they didn't ask for remed.

I had forgotten they can extend the medical validity.

So, my question is, for those who are not required to do re-medical and have received passport request instruction letter with the warning "Visas can only be issued to a maximum validity of 12 months from the date of your most recent Immigration Medical Examination (IME) assessment." , and find themselves very little time to make the landing before expiry of medical, can they call to ask for a medical extension?

If so, this would change my mindset of definitely not having to re-do medical. There is no need to have any more stress or pressure to quickly pack and move everything and in our case, I plan to fly over to Thailand to help with the move/packing and be with her on the long flight here and for the landing procedures.

Vietcan, diyabrar, cdnmom, and others: do you recall seeing this warning on the instructions letter you received, and has anyone asked for a medical extension and be refused?

Any help appreciated.

Hi Koifish76,

I do see the warning on the letter they sent me. And that's why I'm concerned whether or not I need to do remed. My medical is already expired as of today. And I'm still waiting on my Criminal Record to be done before I can submit my passport with everything else to them.

Hello everyone,
My application has been started processing from August 6, 2014. Does anyone know when they will ask for PPR?
