Does anyone send email to Singapore VO to know the file status? Does they reply for such type of email or not? It's been 10 months I applied for my husband's PR. it's still application received. I have seen in this forum that someone applied September 2013 and already get passport request. I want to send a query email to Singapore VO. Because my file is very straight forward. My husband got his TRV for five years by one chance. But I don't understand that why it's taking too long time? My husband's medical will expire next month.
Please tell me your opinion for sending email to VO it'll be very helpful for me.

Hello bdorchy, I am on the same boat. My application for sponsoring my husband was received by Singapore Visa office in july,2013. I have sent a letter to the visa office this year mar06,2014, No reply yet. Should I wait until they reply. or should I e-mail them to know my status?

Hello maruf416, congratulation to you!! I am a sponsor for my Husband's immigration application in family class.
I didn't understand one thing in your post though. Is local MP (member of parliament ) involved in visa process. Should I have to tell my husband to contact the local MP of his area if the Singapore visa office send an inquiry to his (MP's )office about my husband?

Actually you can contact your MP in Canada not your husband. Because you are the sponsor. Your local MP can contact CIC on your behalf and ask for an status update.

Hi all,

I applied to sponsor my wife in Quebec last OCT, 2013. It took 2 weeks to hear from CIC and then another 3 weeks to get the CSQ of my wife. Now the application is being processed in singapore VISA office. Anybody have any idea how long it's gonna take for the passport request for the quebec sponsorship from the recent time experience? Thanks in advance.

One of my friend recently requested MP office to get some more information regarding his spouse application from Singapore. They just responded this application still waiting for initial review even of some of the local MP constituency office will say Singapore processing time is 28 Months we can't to do anything you have to wait. If you would like know more about your application please order GCMS note it will give an idea what officer wrote on the file. if it's straight forward application or missing something .. or interview required. Writing Singapore email they might not reply or if they do reply they will say still waiting for initial review.

Good Luck

My wife got her visa! It took one week from "decision made," roughly, to get the passport back. Total time from application mailed to visa received = roughly 16 months.
Good luck to all of you!

My wife just received email to undergo remedical examination. She will go to IOM in HCMCity in Vietnam. The instructions said to bring 4 recent photos. Can anyone who has done it before tell us what size is the photo? Also her email address on the medical form is incorrect. Can I just attached a letter stating them to correct the email address? I have been receiving all her emails since I stated that I am her representative. Should i just ignore the incorrect email address on the medical form? MAny thanks

My wife's email is correct. sorry. Still need photo size.

Hi all,

I have filed an appeal with the IAD Registry Office of Montreal in January 2014. If the idots from CIC believe that they could destroy my marriage by refusing to issue the permanent residence visa to my wife, they're only deluding themselves.

They believe wrongly that a long wait of 2 or 3 years to appear before the judge will discourage my wife and I and make us break. Ha! Ha! Ha! They're so wrong! They should be aware that all the trials and obstacles that they impose on us unfairly will only strengthen the love that we feel for each other. The only person who would be the most unfortunate will be our future child to be born in Vietnam. He will live the early years of his life away from his father, but the day will come when all our family will be reunited here in Canada. No! We will never let the shabby decision of an incompetent official ruin our happiness!

Last Friday, I received a package from the IAD containing some pieces of evidences. Curiously, they did not include the strongest evidences in my favor! It's obvious they do withhold information. Therefore, I myself will send the evidence to IAD.

When will be my hearing before the judge? According to your experience, how long could be the wait after receiving the package? 6 months? 12 months? 18 months? 2 years?

Thank you very much.

It's best to ask the doctor's clinic about the photo size. My wife had to provide 4x6 though...

In case of change of status (marriage), how to include spouse into the application? Only notifying to Visa Office as Case Specific Enquiry is enough or i have to send all required application, supporting documents with 550 CAD fees to CIO-Sydney?

Please help

Standard photo size for Canada visa is 3,5 x 4,5
The photo studio in district 1 HCMC where close to IOM is Lap Photo Studio - 86 Nguyen Hue Dist.1, your wife just needs to go there and says "photo for Canada visa", they will know exactly the size. They also have express service which you/your wife just waits around 30 mins (of course with extra pay)
Hope it helps
