My wife just received her mail package from SVO. She was instructed to send her passport and other forms six weeks after the re-med. Just wondering if she could send it earlier to save some time?

Cheers :)

Hi everyone,

My ECAS recently get updated to "In process" the January 16 2014, but I didn't received any e-mail from Singapore requesting document/passport like I see in other applicants.
I verified in my junk mail and in my wife's email, but nothing... Does anyone having the situation as me?

My wife is from Vietnam and i am from Quebec just in case you guys need this info.

Thanks in advance, Regards,

Duc

When we got our doc and ppr request it went to my husband and not to me at all even though I was the designated rep. I would check with her. It can take awhile from in process to a communication depending on the style of the visa officer.

I'm so sorry yes I can see you checked your wife's email. I guess I have to include the possibility of what happened to us, there was a typo or some issue with the email and they snail mailed it on Nov 29 (went in process on the 12th) I got my MP involved which is the only reason I found out what happened and with his help got them to reemail the doc request. The hard letter btw, has yet to arrive. Mail service in Cambodia leaves something to be desired. I could have found this out from notes but it takes a month to receive them and my application was taking so long for a waived interview application I was soooo done with it. I have seen some applicants waiting for up to a year after in process which is why I finally broke down and called my MP. I hate the idea of contacting an MP willy nilly though. If it gets abused CIC won't pay attention to them at all. I think unless your case has been really unusually long, you should send a case specific enquiry, or a general email inquiry with your info expressing your concern and give them a week to respond before you do something like contact your MP.

Thanks for your answer, i hope i willl see the email soon...btw what's a MP?

Member of parliament. You've been away and you didn't catch the MP thing so I take it you don't vote. It'll be harder without a district. Anyway send them an email first and or case specific enquiry.

I'm afraid it doesn't work like that. Medical needs to be recent and done only when CIC asks for it. So, you have to wait for a letter from CIC.

Please provide your timeline, it helps providing related info.

According to present rules if the VO assessed that he can complete the Visa issue to your husband within 15 months of his Medical done date, VO will seek extension of your husband's medical expiry date from medical or Health branch and he will get it. Don't worry. See the following link.

Medical report extention:

We have good news!!
Received a request for remedical and passport
Along with Appendix C

So... wondering why the medical wouldn't be extended since that is the only thing permitting the visa from being issued
Also do dependant children who are non-accompanying have to have the medical done again??

Very happy to have received this email !!

Congrats Cdnmom!!! Finally good news came to you after long waiting.

15 months will expire on 15-02-2014 since your medical 15-11-2012 and VO can not complete the issuing of visa collecting pp from you. So VO did not ask from Medical office or Health branch to extend your medical. About dependenent children I have no idea.

We share your happiness and hope early issue of your visa. But sorry you have to spend some extra money for re-medical.

Medicals can actually be extended for up to 12 months past expiry
Not worried about spending the money... Applicant is here in Canada on TRV but dependants are in home country with grandparents outside where panel physician is located... so we will contact our MP tomorrow to find out if the non accompanying dependants need to redo their medicals
