Passport requested = interview waived?

Hi everyone, I posted this in another section but didn't get much answers so Im taking my luck here :)

So, my vietnamese husband is applying for PR (family sponsorship), we both live in Vietnam. We applied back in July 2013 and after getting the OK for me to sponsor and the OK from province of Quebec, we reived a letter from Singapore office stating (word for word) this:

your appication for permanent resident visa is nearly complete. in order to proceed towards with issuance of your p.r visa with minimal delay, you must follow the steps outlined below

...blablabla...

you are also required to submit additional documents to our office. the required documents are listed below. you will want to begin preparing those documents now. wait six weeks after completing your medical examination and all required lab tests, then submit all the documents in one envelope, together with your passport to this office.

required documents:
-original good conduct certificate ...blablabla...
-4 passport sized photos
-completed IMM5669

***we were NOT asked to make a new medical exam

SO does that mean my husband's interview has been waived as they are asking for his passport already?!? also, why are they asking again for the good conduct certificate (we sent it to them , the original one and the translation, 4 and a half months ago! This paper is really a pain to get in this country too! We also did send the IMM5669 paper and the passport photos...

Also, back in Aug.2013, they sent an email asking to send a few papers (that we had sent them already), but this time only by email and only copies were required. So I don't know I have a feeling maybe they lost some of the papers...?

Any other applicants from Vietnam (spousal sponsorship?)Waiting to hear from you guys... Thanks!

Hi quebecvietnam,

Congratulations. Your husband waiting is almost over. I do not know why they ask your husband for the remedical? It is not 1 year over. Usually they ask the re-medical if it is expired. You can do an inquiry with Singapore Visa office by email. One more thing ask your husband to go to see a panel doctor who has the e-medical syatem and tell to show the letter and tell him to explain details and talk to the doctor that he did not get any instruction for the remed. But in the letter it tells he needs a medical. Doctor can check in their system. If he needs and what he needs to do in the remedical, doctor will able to see in their system. Sometimes email is missing or goes to junk mail. Ask your husband to check his junk mail box as well.
Yes, I am 99.999% sure his interview is waived and he will get the visa soon. I also think they lost the papers. You can send an email to SVO and tell them you already send those papers last August and wait for the reply. But my advice is send those paper again including your passport according to their instruction.
Good luck!!!!

Hi there,
I'm newbie in this forum, but followed for a time,
Congratulations, it seems your interview is waived, and as far as I know, your timeline is the fastest I've been seen, especially in Quebec, where they asked for 1 more step,
I wonder why your situation could be super fast like that? Do you have any idea? Your circumstance is very special or your income/job of both you and your husband are very good?
Have you ever tried to order for GMCS note? If yes, who are in charge of making final review for your file?
As you are from Vietnam, now you could enjoy wonderful lunar new year together in VN and then come to Canada after Tet. Shouldn't worry.
Regards,

Hi! Thanks for your reply! It seems like great news for me! Actually my husband and i are ver far from.being rich, hes a freelancer artist and so am I but i have a teaching degree and proved that no matter what happens i can have stable joband make enough money to support us both as a teacher.

Ive been living with him in vietnam for 3 years now, traveled to many places with him, have bills in commin and tons of letters from friends and family + 200ish photographs (and our complere skype history!) so am guessing our file appears as pretty solid!

We were also surprised at how quickly its going, we were expecting to wait at least a year but hey were not complaining :)

Lovelife, are you also applying (or your husband\wife) from Vietnam?

Yes, I'm applicant from Vietnam/ Ho Chi Minh City,
Almost us have to live far apart as the sponsors have to work there in Canada to keep their job, not lucky like you as a freelancer,
It's unfair ??? ??? lol
Anyway,
I still have a question for you,
Just curious, if you don't mind
Have you ever ordered GCMS note? If yes, do you have the code of VO who in charge of making final review for your application?
Regards,

Hi!
I didnt even know we could order such thing!?
Sorry I dont have more info on this.

Best of luck on your side :)
When did you send your application? And where in Canada will you live?
Best regards x
