If someone gets a multiple entry visa...how long can they stay in Canada before they have to leave. the visa says valid till 2017. however can that person stay in Canada until 2017??

Hi bangla,

That means you can enter Canada multiple times until 2017. The visa holder can only stay up to 6 months each time, unless the Canadian Border Service Agency officer write the date the person must leave the country in his/her passport.
To stay more than 6 months, he/she must apply for visitor extension. I just got my visitor extension that allows me to to stay for 6 more months. I hope this helps.

Please be advised that applications which require interview fall outside normal processing standards. The current queue for an interview is approximately 24 months...............

Do we really have to wait 24 months? is there any thing that we can do to make the process faster?

Singapore office has processed my wife application since January 2012. We have waited 2 years, do we have to wait another 2 yrs.

P.S: my wife lives in Viet Nam. and we have a son together. we have tested for DNA. it is done.

Hi, my wife had to wait the full 2 years for the interview. There is nothing you can do to make it faster. Just pray that you do not have some lazy VO, and hopefully interview will be sooner rather then 2 years.
Also, order CAIP notes to see why they are requesting interview. When you go to the interview they will have questions that reflect what is written in the CAIP notes.

Cant believe after 2 years u got a interview letter? would u mind sharing whether there is any red flag on file? such as age difference or etc etc?

Cause many things might have changed in the "sponsored persons" life from the time the application was filled....For example jobs, address, education travel history etc etc...

I sponsored my wife...thus my wife is the principal applicant and she filled and signed the form

We are not sure why it takes 2yrs to get the interview letter. We both got married before and divorced. That is what we think of the problems.
