Congrats Sohana... you are now one step closer.

Usually within the next 203 weeks you should received a package with instructions on what to do next, i.e: re-medical exam, police clearance paper etc... Unless they request an interview than that's a different story.

My wife's ECAS status changed on Nov 18th, 2013 and she received her package Dec 1st.

Hope that helps some of you.

P.S: I would email them if after 1 month or so of not receiving anything. Also, to make sure you wife's mailing address is correct, as Vietnamese addresses are sometime quite difficult to find.

Tomorrow we will be sending the passport to Singapore with Fedex... It takes about three days to get there... I was just wondering if it is better to use the Registered Mail they offer by SVO or acCourier paid by us like Fedex....

Hi Viruta57, normally SVO advise us to send pp to VFS or IOM (in Vietnam) and then they send back pp of visa inside to VFS/ IOM, we will collect it at VFS/IOM. But many people use courier service like Fedex/ DHL/ TNT to send by ourselves and we can check status by tracking number. But finally for Vietnam's applicant, SVO send pp/visa to IOM and we still have to pay 35$ for IOM to collect it. They don't use our service that we paid in advance. I don't know it is same way for other country's application or not.

For Security screening & background check, what kind of inquiry doing through SVO? Are they doing anything through BD government or any agency? What kind of info SVO ask to bd gov or agency? Does anybody get any call or anything about Security or background check? Anyone know about that?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi Sama, I think I understand your question. It is up to you to initiate your security check and have it officially translated into English or French. They will hire an outside agency to confirm it. For us we had to go through the police dept head office in the capital and we used an agent to do this and it can take awhile. If you are not sure whom you need to address to apply, just check with the IOM

Marvelous. We will do the same in a few days when the criminal records check comes through. I had the same dilemma but decided in the end to send it through IOM, the registered service they recommend just to be slightly safer. I think it's not too slow. I hope not! Can't say what the best way is though really.
Keep us posted on which you choose and how long when you get the passport returned with the visa :-)

Hi toutesweet.. thank you so much for your quick reply.
What do you mean "It is up to you to initiate your security check and have it officially translated into English or French."? I did my Police Clearance twice and all are ok and sent it to SVO. After that also SVO do another inquiry with private agency?
what do you mean by "If you are not sure whom you need to address to apply, just check with the IOM"? what is IOM?
Are you Bangladeshi applicant?
Police can do the securuty but who is doing the background check and what they are checking for backgroung check please let me know if you have idea.
