oh really,cool, did you have to prove that ull return to cnd once ur wife receive pr?if so where you sent proofs and what was it.i wanna do that then i think when we gonna come back,both gonna BE JOBLESS.And thats gonna be a trouble even tho i could have help from parents n siblings. I dont wanna waste more time like tht...life is short to waste it tht way.Thanks

I hope I am not serious but it is a possibility. If the number of interviews went up and resources stayed the same. It is possible they are serious when they tell you about 24 months because if all interview dates and times are booked for their next scheduled visits to embassies. You go on next visit if they interview BD twice a year lucky you if not the following year. I think this is also politics by Harper government they have too many application in all classes. So they discourage this way. They make you wait

Yes i know what u r saying, it really disapoint me knowing they schedule int. once,twice a year.I wonder when is the next foe 2012,we received letter in 2011......hopefully by end of april-may..........am crossing my fingers, i hope ur wife will receive it soon too..why its so hard living apart ???

Anyone get any news from Singapore? I am ready to pack and go back to Canada with my wife and brother in law .
My friend who did interview and keep passport no news from SGN. Only goes in process since Mars 7 and no news. Look like SGN VO is in break. I wish everyone get positive news. I wish all good luck. Will be back to Canada Apr 3.

We got an "urgent" PPR by phone on March 20, and we are set to return to Canada soon. eCAS shows "Decision Made" and my wife's address has been updated to Ottawa We are still waiting for her passport to return to Vietnam for us to pick up, but we've been told that since her medicals are set to expire soon they would make sure it comes on time. Hoping nothing goes wrong in the meantime and that the wait will indeed be over soon. If everything goes well we are expecting to be back in Canada on the 9th.

I read all 60 pages of OP2 it gives a good idea of what the look for in the interview. The different criteria etc. Very good knowledge to have. I wish I had it 2 years ago. lol When you get married you don't think about all the details they want.

I know-- I feel so lucky that my wife is so sharp and that she already knew several people who tried to immigrate and ran into all these problems. One of her best friends applied to immigrate to the USA several years ago and they have lost a lot of time due to miscommunications--she is still here in Vietnam. And yes, the operational manuals are so useful. They should really be linked on the CIC website on the "How to sponsor your spouse" section-- it would save all of us so much hassle!

DangerJones on a recent post has a link to the Canadian immigration services web site which contains a procedures manual for Visa Officers. It contains criteria they must follow in evaluating applicants under the family class sponsorship. Reasons for interviews, method of interview quite detailed 60 pages. I think if you read it may calm you down and help you develop a strategy for your case. If you are going to interview the big problem is the interview date. VO travels to designate Embassy once or twice a year. In Vietnam most interviews are in May and June. When my wife received letter advising that she was on interview queue in november they called her up and told her 20 month. I think she did not fit in this May or June schedule so she goes to May or June of 2013. Which is exactly 20 months from the date of the letter.

I didn't realize this about the VOs travelling, but it makes a lot of sense. My wife told me about a recent spate of interviews all within a month period-- I guess that corresponds to the time the VO spends here. I remember being so nervous throughout the whole waiting process, hoping against hope that we wouldn't be called in for an interview, just for this reason. Blessings and prayers to everyone who is still waiting, may you each have positive results much sooner than you had expected. Canadianfirst, I hope that even if you have to wait longer, you can at least come back and visit your wife a few more times while you wait. I don't know how my wife and I would have survived if we hadn't been able to take the time together that we did.

My wife is in Singapore, on her way to the Visa Office as we speak, to deliver her passport + remaining required document. I hope everything else will be smooth sailing!

Best of luck evan-- if all goes well, we're hoping my wife's passport will be back in Vietnam tomorrow. I still have to lock down the tickets for our flight back too Good luck and let us know how everything goes!

Yes you could apply for TemporaryResidentVisa, also the process is very short, in Bangladesh is only 2weeks. SO you could try, but you need a LOTS of proofs that your spouse will return backhome once her TVr expires(max 6months). Theres very slight possibility to get the visitor visa as they think the person intent to stay in Canada and not return back. Since it wont affect the PR application it wont hurt to try. And also its a good proofs that you both try to be togheter somehow. We applied 2months but got refused,atleast i have that as a proof that we tried to come to each other(as i cant because i have to wait 1year of employment with my company to be able to take time off). So go for it. good luck

it probably is a good sign. maybe check your emails or junk mails.

i also got part of my proofs back last week with a ppr letter included dated 27-mar-12.
got the pkg picked up from post office saturday as i was not around on delivery date.
i didnt expect the ppr letter to be together in it as i read most get them from emails.
maybe ppr letter was included on mine since i stay in singapore?? that i dont know? ;D
included on my pkg are our pics, postcards/cards, phone bills, plane tickets returned.
the rest of the documents i guess stays at vo until application is completed.

applied for sg police cert yesterday and it will take about 3-4wks to process for non-singaporean.
everything is slow here. haisstt.

Hello everyone! My wife and I are currently awaiting my sponsorship approval, and then the file will be transferred to Singapore. Based on the timelines I have been seeing on here, am I right to assume things are moving fairly smoothly over there?

Also, this application for Temporary Resident Visa by dual intent, must sponsorship be approved to do this, or just in process? I applied for Sponsorship in mid-January, however due to current backlogs I have yet to hear anything yet. I thought we had submitted in time so that my approval would happen in time for my next trip to see my wife so that we could use this for her TRV application. She has everything set to apply on the 9th in BKK yet I don't think we will hear anything by then... Has anyone on here had any experience with the BKK VO? I haven't seen her in 5 months and this is driving me crazy...

Supporting documents from the sponsor

Hi,
We have finally decided that my husband should apply for a TRV. Now, can anybody please tell me if he needs any supporting doucments from me to submit with his TRV application (letter, bank statments, etc) ? Or, just submit the TRV with his personal letter and without any supporting documents from me? Thanks.
