Hi Tamanna,
I know how tough it is to stay separate. I am living in Canada and my son(18months) with my husband are staying in Bangladesh. We were refused for my son's visa also. I thought bfore for dependent child the provessing will be faster. But it seems singapore doesnt follow any rules. You can mail to singapore about the status of your application. Most of the time they dont reply. But give a try.
No body can say how long it may take. Singapore process 20% case within six months after they receive it. So I hope you will get a PPR within one month as your daughter is minor.
All the best.

I had high hopes for "conditional spouse visa" I read all the government publications. There is no mention of speeding things up with conditional spousal visa. It is only a deterrent. I think the real deterrent is that the applicant can't sponsor another person for at least 5 years if they divorce. It gives the sponsor some rights as well. The way it was set up before the landed spouse has all the rights and the sponsor all the responsibilities.

If the deterrent works maybe it will speed up things because 25% less applications but this is not for you and me. We are already in the system. The long wait for an interview may be intentional so that married couples meet the requirement of at least two years marriage to obtain PR.

The new rules will be applied as of January. I do not believe that people who obtain Conditional Spousal Visa will arrive in Canada before those already in the system. They have to get rid of the backlog with a deterrent i.e receive less applications.

I was married in Sept 2010 it has been a little over a year. The way I estimate things my wife will have interview in Sept. A decision will be made. Funny! it will be two years of marriage before they make a decision and not before. It is the test of time.

I think for many the interview is just to prove that you know each other and that there is an ongoing genuine relationship. Keep all proof of your relationship and send it to your spouse before the interview. She will have the opportunity to present new evidence of on going relationship.

The wait seems it would cost Canada alot of money. I mean between sending money to our spouses, calling cards and trips, that's alot of money that isn't being spent in our communites.

Today was our 1st Anniversary.=) =(

I sure do wish that I had updated our application like so many others did. In the interview letter that they had sent, they stated they won't receive any more evidence until the interview.

I sent additional documentation as well. Big deal! My wife is still on interview queue. SHE got the standard letter saying 24 months and got a call saying 20 months. In reality it might be 22 months from reception of application. They want to discourage people. The only reason you can email Singapore is to advise them of an address, email or phone # change or if you want to to cancel your application. Why do they do this? because it works. Singapore most likely gets a % of cancelations from those applications on the interview queue. In the end it makes the queue shorter. I estimate 7 to 8 months until new letter. This wait is longer than the first. Why? to discourage you. Unless you have a genuine relationship you will not have the proof to demonstrate that it is on going

I am kind of upset. I see some people get answer with in 2-3 months and start process.
I am concern why they do not call for interview at first stage why after 9-11 months after received application.
I think hey work randomly.

Hey hello 121

Happy anniversary. I hope you called your wife ;D because if you didn"t you are dead meat. :D
I did right after exercise on our November 30th and their Dec 1st. But 8 a.m. Cambodian time was still too late and I was still dead meat.lol I knew it when I saw she called at 6 a.m. Apparently I am not allowed to exercise on our anniversary.lolol

Regarding the Singapore VO. Before they sent my wife her interview letter I did email them and tell them that 'if they want more evidence to please ask and I will be happy to send as I have plenty more evidence'. I dont know what happened but they didnt ask for more and they simply put us on the interview list. Case Status/Additional Information Required. ???

otoh, re: interviews, have a look at reply #8 by Shamsia in this thread...

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/interview-t88719.0.html

"Hi wifeia,

Hope I can be of help. Though my VO is ND, I follow the other threads too. Pakistan's processing times are 26 months, and this is what I have seen people do over there. When they recieve objection letters like yours, they send all the relationship proof and try and address any concerns they have about your relationship. And, yes, for some people, the interview has been waived too. So I would suggest you give it a shot. Maybe you can order the GCSM/CAIPs notes to find out more information."

Going to check with the local immigration officer about this.

Re: the possibility of sending in more information, you might also want to try contacting the MP for your riding. Often times, the MP's office will be able to follow up with CIC and figure out exactly what's happening. I figure it varies depending on where you live, since I've heard different stories from different people here, but I've contacted my MP's office several times since the time we applied and they've been very helpful to us. I called last week asking about whether they thought it was safe to send more evidence, and the secretary said he would be looking into the status of our application to evaluate whether it would be worth it (i.e. check to see if processing has already begun). He should be getting back to me mid-next week. Who knows what you might find out, but it's better than sitting and doing nothing for sure. I know most people here have been saying that Singapore doesn't want extra evidence, but if your MP's office can figure a way around that or at least reassure you as to exactly how long you'll be spending in limbo, then you'll have advanced at least a little. Courage!

yes, he is right.I did the same. My MP helped me a lot. Eventually , i sent more documents recently with his help and VO officer reviewed our documents one more time ,though my file is waiting for interview.

But unfortunately VO still didn't change their decision. :(

Hi all,

Have anyone here had trouble with the status in CIC website?
I accessed my file online, but it didn't show up anything related to my wife's PR application. Only the part of my sponsorship application is shown up. A couple of days ago, the website still showed that PR application is in process. But now, it has all gone.

Don't put too much stock on the CIC website. My wife's had her PR for over a month now, and it's still not updated.

Hopefully they're spending their time on working on cases :)
