No. In 2012 I came here in Canada as dependent child with my Parents.

This time around I am sponsoring my wife.

I saw quite a few Singapore applicants are in interview queue. I thought they will put my wife in interview as well. Here is my situation -

- We didn't know each other for a long time before our marriage. Our marriage is arranged marriage.
- I landed in BD in middle of January, first meeting was after 4/5 days of landing. Got married on 1st week of Feb. I came back at end of Feb
- 9 years of age difference.
- I think anyone except South Asian wouldn't believe that 2 persons can decide to marry just knowing for 2 weeks. I thought this would be a RED FLAG.
- Further we only stayed together for around 3 weeks.

I submitted following as proof of relationship.

- Both Marriage Certificate & Marriage Deeds
- Photos: Engagement, Wedding, Reception, Honeymoon, Photos together with family member
- Phone bills showing number dialed, Whatsapp Chats (export), Whatsapp call logs (screenshot), Facebook profile link, email etc.
- Money exchange receipt (sent money)
- Honeymoon trip - Hotel Receipt
- Airline Ticket, Boarding pass
- My parents also visited to attend my marriage. Included tickets.

I see in this forum that people submit lots of stuff as proof of their long-lasting relationship. Compared to them I provided nothing
I was bit worried as our relationship profile is very short in terms of duration.
I think that particular officer was mainly focusing on whether marriage was genuine or not.

I don't know how but he/she was convinced that marriage is genuine. He didn't look into for how long our relationship is and how we are continuing.

Again every officer has different perspective. If my case was looked by a different officer it could have been something different
Wow

Thanks Stentorian for sharing your timeline.

Maybe coming to Canada in 2012 helped with your application being processed quickly.

Think what the VO is thinking as he/she goes through your application. Do they really want to know the content? I think they just want to see proof of your timeline and any gaps they will question.

I arrange my communication with emphasis on showing the dates. Give them snippets and at the end write down if they want the full content you'd gladly provide it.
Yeah makes sense and that is what I plan to do now. Thanks for your input.

htquach you lucky dog!

happy for you for getting the interview date so early! we got our interview request 2 months before you and still nothing about a date anywhere. I'm thinking trips to Vietnam are more frequent than trips to Malaysia? That's probably it but they're literally neighbouring countries for goodness sake. Anyway, still waiting here, my second birthday without my husband just passed :(

Unfortunately for us, Bangladesh, Thailand and Vietnam make up the vast majority of SVO applicants and so I'm assuming more manpower and resources are allocated to conducting interviews in these countries.

I too believe my wife will wait awhile as barely any Indonesian immigrates to Canada and so they will hold interviews in Jakarta less frequently.

Hi Everyone,

We are March 2016 Applicants. My wife sponsored me and at the time of the application I was in Sweden, but I am a Bangladeshi Citizen.

We have requested GCMS note last month and received the note a few days back. It was quite surprising that on the note there is no update on our application except few general updates such as file received, file transferred etc. The note was generated on 4th August 2016.

Here is a brief history of our relationship:

* Met her in 2007
* We were in a relationship since mid 2008
* She visited me in 2010, 2012, 2014 in Bangladesh and in 2015 in Sweden. During Summer 2015, we visited Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Czech Republic and Norway together.
* Later this year, we decided to get married, and she visited me in December 2015, and we got married in January 2016 in Sweden.
* During May 2016, she visited me again and we went for our honeymoon in Iceland and Switzerland.

Both of us have met our families and friends before and after the marriage, and pretty much provided all the proofs along with pictures, facebook posts, viber/ fb inbox/whatsapp/skype screenshots.

We were really hopeful that we would get some positive feedbacks soon from IRCC as our case seems pretty straightforward. But its really disapointing to see there is literaly no update on our file based on the GCMS note. :(

Hi there,

Your profile looks pretty much straight forward. If you have provided enough relationship proofs, just wait patiently for next 2/3 months keeping close eyes on your next GCMS notes. Meanwhile if you want to send some additional proofs please don't hesitate...send them.

Good luck!

Hasan

I have tried to find a pattern with these guys but im slowly coming to the conclusion that there's simply none. Different officers handle case differently, different scenarios for different apps ect...Believe me, it's very confusing. The one thing that is constant though is we all need PATIENCE!

I'm also a March applicant and I figured our case would be straightforward. Lived together for almost 3 years, have a daughter and soon to be 2nd child together. But it seems they haven't even peeked at our files though they did approve an April applicant''s sponsorship and seem to be working on other April applicant files too.

Maybe they thought April comes before March.

guys all we need some positive waiting. there r lots of applicants waiting fr years after years. think about them. many applicants hav straightforward cases bt still having interview. its all depends on officer to officer who r dealing and how they r viewing applicants. so not everyone is lucky. offcourse feel happy when someone get so quick processing. dealing with interview is a tremendous mental pressure!!
pray that all get smooth processing at the end.

Our applicant Hassan and Farhana did a great job nd still they r helping others in interview.

I know nothing about staying overnight at Kunming. But for wifi at airport it's quite difficult.
I transited in Beijing last April and you will get free wifi at the airport but it will be slow and social media will be block. Facetime works for vocal only don't expect video.

Don't know about Kunming. When I went to China, I went through Hong Kong and stayed overnight at the airport. They had free access to computers there - can't remember about wifi. Anywhere in China, social media and YouTube is blocked. You can get around it by using VPN like softwares you may have used in Bangladesh when they shut down everything.

If you wish to stay at a nearby hotel like place, try TripAdvisor and check reviews before booking. Prices are from $10-100/night. I stayed at 3 star hotels in business suites for less than $20 in some cities.

Most don't know a word of English. Have translation software on phone or have directions/maps/addresses printed out beforehand if you would want to leave the airport on your own.
