Hello every one,
I am reading country specific instruction for my husband and son's pr application. I have some doubts. I am sure you can help me in this situation.
1. I read for Pakistani national, original marriage and birth certificate should be provided. I am from Bangladesh . Can I submit notarized copy of these?
2. I am a pr but don't reside in Canada. Should my husband include my police clearance certificate from Bangladesh?
Thanks

Do not need to send original marriage and birth certificate, notarized copy is fine . Your husband may need if CHD asked for interview or passport visa seal then they ask to bring original marriage certificate some time not.

You do not need to send police clearance certificate. Just send your husband and son,s police clearance original.

The impression we got was it's a very commonly done thing. In your package that comes requesting your passport they ask you to being a few things with you a signed paper, something else that escapes me right now but I gathered it was different for each person and it's clearly spelled out in the letter.

We dropped it off if memory serves me correctly on August 4th, it was a Thursday.. it was ready for pick up on the morning of the 8th so three business days.

It was painless and I would suggest to those that can do it, do so.. like you said we had no desire to take the chance with mail or with couriers.... plus SG is a nice place to get away for a few days.. love Sentosa and we stay there every time we go.

Hope that helps.

P.S. do make it clear when you are dropping it off that you actually reside out of SG and the trip is ONLY for Visa pick up.. for SG residents the wait is 2 weeks.

Hi Bangkok Canuck

Congrats on the Visa. Me and my Wife who are presently in Bangkok for the last four years applied for Canadian PR in Feb this year. We applied under the Federal Skilled Worker Category. Our Processing office is Singapore, We have just Finished Medicals and have sent all the final documents required.

The issue here is that as me and my my wife are not thai and my understand from other forums is that when they ask for passport, we have to send it to the singapore office and it may take couple of months to get it back. I am sure you understand 2 foreigners without passport in Thailand is a bit tuff as we need it for everything we do here.

Then out of no where I bumped into you post in this forum and I understand that you physical went to singapore and stayed there for 4 days and got it do. Wow, that would be amazing. can you shed some light on it. where you given a choice of either sending the passports from Bangkok or to go to singapore Visa office and get the Stamping? I am curious may be they do this only for certain type of PR . May be like the Family Class?

any advise from you is very much appreciated

cheers
charles

When i send an e-mail to Singapore, I received my wife File no and a quto ''File is now in queue awaiting review by officer. Please wait to receive further instructions, if any, from this office.'' Don't know what does it mean.

Others have submitted the passport in person and you can get it back in person in 3 business days, to avoid the mail. My plan is to do this, and I just confirmed that this is the case with Singapore via email. If you go to Singapore yourself to sumbitthepassport the standard wait time is 3 days and then you can pick it up.

I can't imagine it matters what class of sponsorship you have applied been approved for but I would suggest you double check with them. We flew over and handed it in on I believe it was August 4th and got it back on the 8th but there was a weekend in there so three business days.

In the letter they sent us requesting the passport it clearly spelled out the option to drop it off in person and the time frame for NON SG residents dropping off they acted like it was just another day at the beach when dropped it off.. so it appears it is done quite a bit.

Hope that helps
