In process usually is a good sign but in my case it wasn't I hope you all the best! R u from Vietnam?

Congratulation mek.

My case was normal and they asked those (except Landing fee as I gave it upfront) for stamping visa in my case. So it seem 100% sure that SVO had asked for those to stamp visa, otherwise they would not ask Landing fee.

Just relax after a long wait and SVO most probably ask you submit PP by email.

My timeline is as follows:
App Sent: Nov 26, 2014
Sponsorship Approval: Feb 19, 2015
AOR (Applicant): Mar 6, 2015

Current eCAS Status: Application Received

I applied for GCMS notes on May 25, 2015 and Received the reply on June 25, 2015 (exactly after 1 month). In the notes it says:

Eligibility: In Progress
Security: Not started
Criminality: Not Started
Medical: Passed

Also, in the notes section, I found out this comment (Comment added on April 21, 2015):
FOSS Checks completed for Sponsor and PA: no adverse info, Admissibility Documents: outstanding, Docs to be requested later: None, ***No apparent concerns found*** Next steps file ready for officer review and decision

So, here are my questions:
1. What are security and criminality checks and why aren't they started yet? I have submitted a police clearance for my spouse. Also, the notes says FOSS checks done. What else do they check??? How long does this take? Does anyone know how long to wait for these checks?
2. Notes says file ready for officer review and decision. This was the status on April 21, 2015 (which I came to know in June 26, 2015 after I received the notes). So, basically 2+ months have passed since this status update, and when I check the application in eCAS, it still says "Application Received". Why not "In progress"?
3. My spouse's Medical will expire on October, 2015. So, it looks like a re-medical would be required unless something dramatically changes within next 2 months (but usually, after PP request, SVO is now taking an additional 1-2 months to return the passport... so I guess re-medical is inevitable)

I am now clueless what else could be done by me. Last year it looked like SVO sped up the processing times considerably (approval within 4-6 months for some ppl I know) but it looks like this year they have slowed down again... Should I email them? Does it help? Experienced forum members pls reply.

Hi, Does anyone know the waiting time for DNA test in Singapore? My wife did her interview in Cambodia on March 11th 2015 and they told her to wait for DNA test. It's been almost 4 months and still no news from Singapore? How long more do we have to wait? Thanks!

Hi John,

I'm kinda in the same boat as you. My files got transferred to SVO 9th March and till now on my e-cas it still stated that application received. So I guess our files are on someone's desk waiting to be reviewed. There's nothing that we can do now besides waiting I guess..and pray hopefully it will be reviewed faster. Please keep me posted when you get new info because I know I will get mine not too long after you. My plan to go to Canada in August before the school start seems unrealistic now..so I pray that at least I can go to Canada before Christmas. For now, I just have to keep homeschooling my kids to keep them updated on Canadian syllabus.
