Hi,

A few days ago we received a passport request from the Singapore office (my wife is Thai). This is very good news! We sent the application in September 2013, so it took just about 9 months, and we waived the interview. :)

Now, the instructions for sending the passport and last documents are not so clear, and your help would be much appreciated.

On the standard letter we received, it says we need to provide a police certificate. The thing is, we provided one with our application already. The certificate was issued in August 2013, so it should still be valid. We don't need to get a new one, right??

I have another question about the way to send passport and documents to the High Commission of Canada. On the letter it says we may use the Canada Visa Application Center in Bangkok. Problem is, we don't live in Bangkok, we live in Chiang Mai, in Northern Thailand... Can we just send everything through a private courrier? And if we do so, will the High Commission be willing to send the passport (with visa :)) directly back to our home?

Thanks for your time guys.

Hi Maisha,

I do believe they send out PP request letter in batches. My Application went Inprocess 14 April and I got my paperwork 23rd May.
On the other hand, my friend whose app went IN PROCESS on 14th April already received paperwork 20th April

If you try contacting them ,they reply "Your file in pending for further instructions to be sent to the principal applicant"

Keep fingers crossed, you will hear something very soon.

@ Big jump: When did you send the email informing of the situation? Because I am also in relatively the same position and would much prefer an email then a letter....as if things aren't processed long enough already lol. Did you send email to singapore? and when?

1) Better write to SVO to get clarification as it is confusing which medical paper to submit. E-medical system instantly sends report to the concerned authority directly by the designated doctor. I just got a money receipt in local currency. You may contact your designated doctor's office for information.

Posted by VIP member PMM on May 18, 2014"Because the Emedicals are not sent to CIC, they are sent to one of the 6 Immigration Regional Medical Centres, where they are reviewed by CIC doctors, and then coded and then uploaded so that CIC can retrieve them.
2) Passport can be renewed by your country's embassy in Canada in case you don't have to renew now. Check with the passport office".

Hi Everyone,
Can anyone please tell me where does one need to go to get the TRV extented. As you all may know that once anyone arrives to Canada on TRV they are only given a permission to stay for 6 months only, even if the TRV is given for more than a year. My TRV expires in December 2014 but I entered Canada in January 23rd, 2014 and was given 6 months permission. I need to extend that. Please help. Thanks

You may apply online http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/extend/visa.asp
Make sure to register for MyCICkey. I just extended my TRV for the 2nd time. It takes only 10 days for them to grant me another 6 months, since my medical has not expired yet. Good luck :)

Rosindo have u received your passport?

my status is still the same- no change!

Our application went 'In Process' in late February. We got the passport request in late May. 3 months intervals of things seem pretty common. At least for us!

I had my medical done at this clinic. I contacted them after 1 week to collect the upfront medical notification and enclosed it to my application package. The clinic will submit the medical report details directly to CIC. My ecas showed both application and medical report received at the same time.

Hope this helps.
