Hi All,

I wrote case specific email to SVO...i got a generic email the 1 day later saying that if my email is regarding following reasons than this is the only email i will get: 1- includes status of application.

I also applied for GCMS notes and I got an email today for Ottawa that they cannot proceed because of missing information (consent form) which i am sure did not come up during the time i was applying for GCMS.

Anyways i am trying to complete the consent form.. and i don’t know if it is to be filled by my wife (applicant) or me(sponsor).. Please help.

Hi Bangla,

It should be filled out by the applicant (i.e your wife in this case). In question 3, she just needs to put your name as the designated individual.

She could perhaps fill it out, scan it and email it to you, and you can sign in question 5, rescan it, and attach it with your request.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hi Bangla,

Just had an idea, maybe you can call CIC call center (not the Singapore VO) to find out if your application reached Singapore ?

From what I've read on this forum, calling Singapore VO is usually not a good idea (unless there's an urgent need), but calling CIC call center should be fine, since it's based in Canada.

On the sponsor approval letter, CIC specifically said to contact SVO for further inquiries related to the application of my wife. I doubt that CIC Mississauga will know anything.

Hi mirjahan
I'm in interview queue since December 2012. No contact from them since.

They might at least know the location of the file. Anyways, it's your call.

I know the location of all our files: initial review is done , file send to officer to make decision. at this stage files don't move even for a year( except for those who got re medical)

Sad and very unfortunate - for all of us.

By the way... you can get your MP to inquire about your file and if no progress is made in your file in 6-8 months... I am sure you can bring that up with you MP. My MP’s website says that some of the services they offer are help with immigration and citizenship.. I have written a letter to the new immigration minister CC’ing the MP.. just to let them know that it is very difficult for me to understand why the visa offices in India and China are able to process their application in 8-10 months but Singapore takes their sweet time... and why don’t i have the option to select the visa office that i want. Why should my wife from Bangladesh wait for 26 months when people from India only have to wait 8 months...I hope to get an answer for you guys soon…by I do recommend that you talk to your local MP (they represent you and they will help you)..

Congrats Goodman36 for passport req. Just noticed on your profile. Please pray for us who are waiting. as I said you earlier, I applied in October 2012 for my wife. File still in Singapore. No movement yet. Hope to get at least for re-medical request in a month or two. I don't know, why things are so lengthy now a days.

Hi Everyone,

For people whose medical has expired, the SVO asks for a re-medical before sending the passport request.

Is it OK to redo the medical exam before the re-medical request comes in? (The advantage would be the 2-6 weeks time between re-medical request and passport request could be saved )

Is there any drawback to doing the exam before the request comes in?

What is your suggestion/opinion?

it should not be any problem, but I prefer to do it upon their request.

Thanks goodman36, cdnmom and Davidsuchet .

I submitted application Feb/2013,
received approval for sponsor March/2013... and in September 13,2013 it will be exactly 6 months with no contact from CIC Singapore office...

I am just worried because i have read horror stories about how the file was sent to the wrong visa office or request for documents from visa office were send to the wrong applicant's address... i just don't want to find out after 8 months that my file was in Islamabad... and now it will go to Singapore, further delaying my process...

So far i have read from 2 people that acknowledgement letters are sent after Singapore recieves file...Can Davidsuchet or cdnmom confirm that you have received such letters. I really appreciate the info...panicking here. I really wish I can do something about this torture I am going through...

When the application gets approved in Canada, the sponsor person gets an email of approval with a file number issued and when the file reaches Singapore office the sponsored person receives another email with a new client id number issued. I am not sure if this is the case for everybody but it was for me.

My medical is going to expire this November, I am going re-medical before it expires(and police verification). They are going to ask for these documents if these expires before the application process is over.
