So, what do you see now in ecas, when you use the file number and your information (your last name, date of birth and country of birth)?

Hi Akhi,

Any news?

Hi all,
I am from Bangladesh and a PR, living in Montreal. Applying for my spouse outland who is living in Bangladesh. She didn't had a passport so now she is applying for one. So I am confused on what to put in her permanent and present address in the form. We have diff. present and permanent address.

Like some people are saying after marriage her permanent address will be changed to mine like we should have the same permanent address. Should it be like that or does it matter actually?

Thanks, will really appreciate your response.

Welcome to the forum. Feel free to ask questions so that you can benefit and as you learn and eventually submit your sponsorship application, help out the other newbies in the future.

First, I would suggest you familiarize yourself with the process by visiting the government website:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/index.asp (of course their is a french version too)

Now, to answer your question, it is an issue more to do with the Bangladeshi Passport that your wife will apply for then it has to do with the immigration application process itself. Remember, when she applies for Bangladeshi Passport, she can choose now which address she will use to show her residences; so it is ok if she shows her present address as her in-laws (your address in Bangladesh) address and shows her permanent address as her parents address.

Now for Canadian immigration purposes, because, she is married now with you, it is expected that she will show her present address as the address that you use in Bangladesh (that is where your parents live since you live in Canada). But it is really not that important. Because what if she already had a passport before she got married with you? That passport would show her current address/ permanent address which are completely different from your's right?

Let her get the Bangladeshi Passport first. Then it would be easier to fill out the immigration form. In the form (IMM 0008), which she will fill out, she has to provide 2 addresses: 1 residential address and 1 mailing address. For the residential address, she can show the one as per the Passport. for the mailing address, she can even use your address in Canada.

Hope that helps.

Congrats SingaporeVO,goodman36 and Samkh for the news. You guyz will get passport request probably within 2months of submitting the med request. all the best and Whoever put their name on the spreadsheet please make sure you update your timeline so it gives idea to others waiting. Hi Shiny, good to see you back!

Since some of our ecas shows "in process" after we got the re-medical request. So, does that mean that the interview was waived?

Hi goodman36,
Thank you so much for your reply. Looking forward for help from all of you.

Now she is finishing her internship (1 year long) back at her present address as the medical school is there and that's the reason she can't live with my parents now otherwise she would have lived with my parents and had the same present address as mine.

I will ask her to put the same present and permanent address as mine as she will be living now in both her and my place anyway, and after finishing internship she will eventually move to my place permanently. since in CIC its mentioned it takes max 24 months :( for processing the whole thing so it will be better to use mine.

Thanks all.
