Hi SingaporeVo and Samkh,
My wife's ecas shows the same as your's. So, it seems all three of our case showing in process at the same time.
So, are you sure that there is NO INTERVIEW?
My wife has not gone for her re-medical yet. Probably she will do it this week. Thank you for both (and Davidsuchet) of your suggestion of using her national id.
Let us keep posted please.
Hi goodman36: I replied your PM. Please check.

Here is some explanations;
1.No body knows what is going on in visa office so nothing is impossible.
2. When they change the e-case to "in process" it means the officer has been satisfied by your evidences, that you are a family member of sponsor person( could be husband and wife or adopted child), therefore you can join your family, this is what we call genuine relationship. Interview for this step maybe required. The decision has not been made yet.
next steps:
3.1: Check your background from RCMP(Royal Canadian Mounted Police) If the records show any derogatory, they will call you for interview, This is what we call criminality check.
4.2:Check your background from CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) If the records show any derogatory, they will call you for interview. This is what we call security check.
5: If your medical exam is still valid and you passed all the steps then they will send you a PPR letter meanwhile they change your e case to "decision made".
Explanation 1 : Sometimes e case jumps from nothing to complete :D . or does not work.
Explanation 2: Background checks take 1.5 to 3 for some cases up to 6 months.
Explanation 3: Since a lot of applicants have not been in Canada, RCMP and CSIS do not have any records from them so in my opinion this two steps are pointless.
Hi Davidsuchet: Good said. plus 1 for you. My applicant was never in Canada.

I prepared my TRV application just last week and wanted to visit Malaysia and Singapore with my wife. But I dropped the idea now.

Application number for sponsor person is issued in CIC (Mississauga) when you send a package. Application number for sponsored person is issued in local visa office(Singapore) when SOV send you a notification of delivery of your application.

When the sponsor receives a confirmation that the sponsor has been approved as a sponsor and that the file has been sent to the visa office for further processing; that letter has the sponsor's UCI # and the File # at the top. This file# remains the same. Remember that, there is only 1 file but 2 people. When the sponsor came to Canada as a PR, the sponsor had a UCI#, this UCI# remains the same for life.

Now, after the file is sent to the visa office, when they communicate on that file, they sent all communication addressed to the applicant. That communication will have the applicant's UCI# (that is CIC has created an UCI # for the applicant). That UCI# remains same when the applicant comes to Canada and apply in the future for citizenship, for example.

After the sponsor is approved and the file is sent to the visa office: there is no point of logging in with the sponsor's UCI# because it will not show update for the applicant. Decision has already been made for the sponsor, that is, the sponsor was approved. That is why the file was sent to visa office. If the sponsor was not approved, then the sponsor would have received letter from Mississauga.

Hope that clears it for you.

I wanted to ask, how many of us here got re-medical instruction from Singapore Visa Office and subsequently whose file shows "In Process" in ECAS...

So far, myself, Singapore VO and Samkh has stated that all of us got re-medical instruction in the first week of this month (July) and all our (our spouses) ECAS shows "In Process".

This way we can compare the progress (like, when the visa office sends out further instruction) and plan accordingly....

Thanks........

mhmh, I think you didn't read my post in answer to tuntuni's inquiry.

Once the file is with the Visa Office for processing, you can only see update in e-cas using only the applicant's (not the sponsor's) information....

[If you use the Sponsor's UCI# & his information, then you may be able to see only 'Decision Made" - which means the sponsor is eligible to sponsor. This is called Stage 1. You don't need any update at this end, because it is already done. The applicant's processing in Singapore Visa Office is called stage 2 ]

I guess, sometimes if you try mixing it, i.e., using the file number and Sponsor's information (date of birth, country of birth), it will not show anything because you are supposed to use the file # and applicant's information.

Any update will show up in applicant's e-cas once SVO updates them.

If u login ur ecase wt is showing for permanent residence status!!!!application received or in process??

You are the applicant right?

When you say, ecas is not working, what do you mean? Please tell us.

You should be able to see ecas using the file # or your UCI # and your information. If you get an error message when logging in using your (applicant) information after applying for TRV, then you should send a case specific inquiry or a letter to SVO asking why you can't see ecas.

Again, your status couldn't have shown "decision made" when you used your info only. You applied for Permanent residence. So, ecas should show: "Application Received". Next step is "In Process". Then "Decision Made".
