Congrats Kchandana74, yeah I have booked a time for my fingerprint, I just worry I would have to do it again. I already got my ITA but yet to get all documents needed, like PCC from other countries I have lived in, so I intend to call the Singapore Police and explain to them, or at least see if they can wait and only release it after the instructions from IRCC. Anyway, I don't really see it as a major problem if I have to get it again, I'm just worried the CIC officers would think I am too "kiasu"

Hello Kchandana74,

Could you please share your views/inputs on the following?

1. Was your stay in Singapore - continuous in one length or discontinuous means multiple entries?
2. What does your COC state - your complete duration of stay like visitor visa, employment pass/work permit, PR stay or just the last one?
3. I came to know that COC only mention the last stay in their COC. Could you please validate the same?

Thank you in advance.

1. Mine was continuous
2. COC does not mention any date range. I came to Singapore on work permit (on 16 March 2004), then got PR and then got the citizenship. Still I am a Singaporean. My wife came to Singapore as a work permit (somewhere in 2002 and left Singapore somewhere in 2006)
3. As I said it does not mention any date range. But for my wife, it shows a date range. She was also had a continuous stay. So it seems for Non-Singaporean/PR, they will put the date range

This is the exact text what they put in my COC.

This is to certify that <My name>, <my passport number> whose photograph is affixed, has no criminal record prior to the date of issuance of this certificate. This certificate is issued only for the holder for use in Canada

This is how it shows in my wife's

This is to certify that <My wife's name>, <my wife's passport number> whose photograph is affixed, has no criminal record with this department in Singapore from <start date> to <end date>. This certificate is issued only for the holder for use in Canada

If you have multiple entries I guess you can include first date of your first entry as start date and the day you left Singapore on your last entry as end date when you fill the application for COC

Don't get the police certificate only for last stay coz if IRCC guys came to know it that you had previous stays, they will reject your application as incomplete

Well I postponed my fingerprint date to March hoping I would have received other PCCs from the countries I have lived in by then. However I found out that regardless of when I get the fingerprint, the dates on the PCC will be the actual date of application. I intend to call the SPF and explain, but if they can't change the dates then I will upload the document and include and LOE explaining there was a misunderstanding. Really hoping the canadian immigration will not ask lots of questions

Thank you Kchandana for the information. Would also like to check - did you get complete 60 days after your first submission (e-APR) for Singapore PCC?

I hope following was the process for you -

1. After ITA, you got all the documents and records as per EE except PCC/COC singapore.
2. In the PCC placeholder, you attached a LOE stating that you are singapore PR and you need a request letter for PCC.
3. You did the e-APR and submitted the fees as requested C$ 1040 per applicant.
4. CIC reverted back to you with the request letter. (How many days CIC took to revert to you with the request letter?)
5. You used the request letter for the singapore PCC for self and spouse.
6. After few days, you got the PCC/COC from SPF and you again uploaded the same on EE profile.

Please share your views on my understanding.

Thank you!

Hi Kenok,

Was your stay in Singapore a continuous in one length or discontinuous with multiple entries? I have read about the discussion on this thread. It appears that a non continuous stay in Singapore for non singaporean highlights the last stay and not the complete period. Any thoughts on this?

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/singapore-coc-appeal-form-t390455.45.html

My view is that if they are not highlighting the complete duration, what ever is the last duration specified that should be okay. Since, any crime/bad character in the earlier phases would be factored in the last duration, as well.

Hello Pawshi

1. Yes
2. Yes. Just include a LOE with this text. "I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from CIC to get a police certificate". I am a Singaporean national and you don't need to mention whether you are PR or so. Your application has all the details
3. Yes
4. Yes. My AOR is on 30 Sep, and I got the letter on 9th Nov. I was given 60 days to submit. So I had to submit it before Jan 9 2017
5. Yes. I uploaded separate LOE letters for me and my wife. CIC send me two request letters for me and my wife
6. I got my PCC approved on 12 Dec. (Took some time coz my wife needed to get her appeal approved first). Point of caution; if you are outside Singapore, they will send the PCC to your home address by registered post. SPF posted our PCCs on 13 Dec and even by 5th Jan, those were not received. SingPost tracking said it has left for destination country Canada and Canada post was saying the post has not yer reached Canada. So I called SPF and they said to order a duplicate report and assign a friend to collect it. So one of my friends went there and collect it for me, scan it and emailed it to me, so I could upload it by 7th Jan. You know.. the original PCCs posted on 13 Dec came to me only 5th Feb
So my advice: if you have a friend, assign it to collect it for you

I feel that is dangerous. We have enough examples of applications got rejected coz the police reports did not cover all the periods you stayed. and IRCC does not assume anything like since your last stay was good that your earlier ones are ok.

Best thing should be to include period start date and your first entry date and period end date as you departure date of your last entry. Call SPF will be a better option to get a clarification

This excellent KChandana ji. Thank you very much for all the information clarifying the whole process. Yes, I have got many friends who can help me in Singapore. I will involve one of them for this local collection.

Could you please share what all I need to follow as a process and details of the proxy/designate to collect COC from SPF?

In the application, there is a place to nominate the proxy. (under method of delivery or something like that)

Also send an email (or SPF told me even an SMS is fine) authorizing your friend to collect on behalf. Include the application number, friends name and NRIC number in your email
